Kellie Pickler Interview
Today I spoke with Kellie Pickler on the phone for a interview. The whole interview will be up at a site I write for either later tonight or tomorrow. I will post the link when it is ready. But for now I have a small excerpt from the interview for those anxious to hear more news from Kellie.
What song on the CD was the most fun for you?
The most fun, oh gosh they were all great for me. Umm I love “Red High Heels” of course because it’s kind of like my girls anthem. And I love shoes so that’s always fun to sing about (laughing). “Things that Never Cross a Mans Mind” is probably one of my favorite upbeat tempo songs because it is just a sassy song, and it’s a fun song.
Will there be a music video for I Wonder?
Yes we are actually are getting ready to shoot that in the next two weeks I believe.
When will you have a fan mail address for the public to send your fan mail too?
Umm people have been sending mail everywhere. When we get one we’ll let you know. Someone else with Kellie said he would make sure to get the information to me for all the fans to know exactly where to write.
On American Idol you were all so close, which of the girls was you closest to and which of the guys?
Probably the closest to, Oh I got very close to everyone in our own little way. Ace and I were very close like brother and sister, Bucky and I were super close, Chris and I were very close, Katharine and I and Mandisa and I.

Taylor Hicks: Feb5th Radio Release Date
February 5th has been announced at Gray Charles as the release date for Taylor Hicks single “Just to Feel That Way” It has taken a while for this single to be released but I am sure once it hits the air waves it will become a hit. In a talk with VH1 Taylor said this about a video “A video for "Just to Feel That Way" is in the early stages, but Taylor couldn't confirm any details.” So looks like we will be getting to see a Taylor Hicks music video also. We just have to be patient. All good things take a while to create and a good and stable career takes a little while to get there. I would much rather see Taylor’s career start slow and last a long time then start blazing the charts and fade away as so many have done. There are lots of one hit wonders out there. This is not what we want of Taylor Hicks so let’s just watch as his music career blossoms and grows everyday step by step. Taylor has been seen on many TV shows, played golf, showed kindness to those who are longing to be treated with respect and not called Bush Babies. No matter what happens with the charts Taylor Hicks loves his job and he is very happy with what is going on in his life. This is what is important. Being happy with one’s self is what makes life good. Nothing else matters. Below is a little video I created when I saw at Gray Charles “boom impact date radio Feb 5th.”

Taylor Hicks: Soul Patrol Covention
Taylor Hicks fans have come together to try and get a Soul Patrol convention going. Proceeds from the convention will go to Kid One Transport. Here is the release please contact those given in the release to find out more.
We are Harmony for the Soul and would like to introduce ourselves to the legions of Taylor Hicks fans across the planet. We are dedicated to organizing a National Soul Patrol Convention. We were founded with the objective of being a fund raiser for Kid One Transport, a non-profit organization which provides free medical transportation to children and expectant mothers in Alabama, allowing them to receive the essential health care and checkups they need and deserve.. This is a charity Taylor Hicks is very involved in and holds near to his heart. All profits from the convention will go to Kid One Transport.
Plans are currently underway for the convention in Birmingham, Alabama, to be held tentatively on October 12-14, 2007. We are planning multiple activities, a musical extravaganza, and a chance for friends old and new to gather and share the common bond of love for an artist and great soul music. Many of us have wanted a place to gather and meet our fellow soul patrollers and see friends we've come to know along the way who share our love of the music and the artists who create it. Provide the soul and they will come. Venues in the city are being reviewed, however, and we need an idea of attendance and therefore need your help.
We are sending this to inquire how many of you would be committed to attending..depending on the responses we receive, we will then get an idea how and if we shall proceed.
If you are interested in attending this event, please send an email to our secretary at harmonyforthesoul@earthlink.net. We will keep your name and address on record and will continue to keep you updated with developing news.
Please remember we are constantly working behind the scenes to make this a great event for everyone and all information will be provided as it becomes finalized. Anyone interested in helping to organize and assist in future planning of this event, please send an email to our president at onefussybg@aol.com for details on joining our group.

Taylor Hicks & Elvis Presley

I am a huge fan of both Taylor Hicks and Elvis Presley. I have noticed that many fans of Taylor Hicks are also fans of Elvis Presley. Elvis has been gone for 30 years but the love and devotion of his fans is just as strong as it was when he was alive and Taking Care of Business by giving fans the music and movements they craved. I was a small child when Elvis died but I was a bug fan. Begging my parents to watch his movies everytime they were on and play his records anytime my Mom turned the stereo on. As I grew older I stayed a fan of Elvis. Many friends thought I was to outdated to be such a fan of Elvis when Rick Springfield, Don Henley and Ozzy Osbourne were so popular. But noone ever got into my heart and soul like Elvis did.
That all changed with the 5th season of American Idol and Taylor Hicks. Taylor Hicks fans are as devoted to him as the Fans of Elvis are. Taylor can get a crowd as wrapped up in him as Elvis did. Taylor Hicks fans are as devoted and protective to him as Elvis fans are to him. Elvis had moves that got critics yelling he wasn't any good with those moves but the girls could not get enough of his hip moves. This also holds true with Taylor Hicks. Critics can say Taylor can't dance but we the fans love to see him move.
I have written a poem I hope you enjoy
Rock and Roll and Whomp and Soul
Two Men from the south
Were loved the minute they opened their mouth.
One started many years ago
And even though he has left this world, the love for him has never slowed.
Fans would come from near and far
To see this shining star
To hear the beloved voice that poured from his soul
They followed him where ever he would go.
The girls screamed and yelled and talked about this handsome man
Always craving to touch him or just hold his hand
His fans were his world and he always showed them his love
The devotion from his fans has never slowed, even though he is up above.
The second man, sang A Change is Gonna Come
And he danced and sang his way into the hearts of those watching at home
He showed his love of music and he sang from his Heart and Soul
His legion of fans call themselves The Soul Patrol
Fans come from near and far
To see this emerging star
To hear the beloved voice that comes from his soul
They will follow him wherever he goes
The women scream and Thud over this handsome man
Always talking about his hair, his eyes, his smile and even his hands
His fans are the world to him and he always shows them his love
When he sings the fans swear it’s like the angels singing up above.
Two men from the south
Were loved the minute they opened their mouth
Elvis – The King of Rock and Roll
Taylor – The King of Whomp and Soul

Taylor Hicks: Just to Feel That Way
Taylor Hicks album has great songs on every track of his new CD. I could not possibly choose a favorite as I love them all. My 12 year old daughter though favors “Just to Feel That Way” as her favorite. Her reason is simply “Taylor’s voice sounds the best in that song Mom.” Well my 12 year old like all Taylor Hicks fans has great taste. Taylor’s single release will be “Just to Feel That Way.” It was just announced earlier today at Gray Charles. The exact date isn’t known yet, probably around the end of this month or first part of February. Go to Gray’s to get the whole story. While there make sure to listen to Taylor’s New Message. It will be so great to hear Taylor’s voice on the radio and “Just to Feel That Way” is such a beautiful song. This song will attract many new fans. I can’t wait for each song to release on the Taylor Hicks CD I am sure most of them will become hits in lots of genres.

Taylor Hicks at the Orange Bowl
Taylor Hicks played at the Orange Bowl’s Halftime show. He sang the “Runaround” and of course he played the beautiful, musical harp of his. Then Gladys Knight came out and she and Taylor performed “I Heard it Through the Grapevine.” Taylor played the harp amazingly well as usual. You could tell Taylor Hicks was having a blast and very much enjoyed being there with Gladys Knight. Gladys also seemed to enjoy very much sharing the stage with Taylor. They were magnificent together. The only complaints I have of the show is the sound didn’t seem right, or at least through my TV screen and it was way to short. It ended way too soon but it was still great to see Taylor showing his stuff to a larger audience and having the time of his life. I found a video at Gofish that someone got up really fast of the performance. I have posted it hear for you viewing pleasure.

December 27th Billboard posted an article about Taylor Hicks touring scedule. In the article they also stated that "Hicks' album debuted last week at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 but drops this week to No. 15. It has sold 500,000 units thus far in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan." You can read the article at Billboard
Some are a little worried that the album has dropped to No. 15 but all CDS drop at sometime and then come back up as I am sure Taylor's will, especially once the single is put out and starts to air on the radio. But selling 500,000 units in two weeks is amazing and I am sure Taylor Hicks is thrilled with this.
This means Taylor Hicks album is Gold. It hit gold within two weeks. I am sure platinum is close. I enjoy this album so much I love every song on this album. If someone asks me to choose a favorite that is almost impossible for me to do as I throughly enjoy each song. I listen to this CD everyday. Either on my computer, in the car or in my home stereo. I am going to have to buy a couple more. One to keep to replace the one I am surely going to wear out and one to keep unopened just incase I get to meet Taylor in the future and have him sign it.
My home town newspaper also published my interview with Taylor Hicks in the paper. The scan of it is below. Taylor Hicks went on American Idol to have his voice heard. In his words "Because I think I've Got one." We the viewing public agreed and I am so glad that Taylor Hicks decided to try out for American Idol, as I love hearing his voice very much.

Taylor Hicks: No 2 on Billboard and Best Mannered Person 2006
Taylor Hicks, Has come a long way since he auditioned for American Idol back in January. First Simon Cowell said he would not make because he was not marketable. However, Taylor Hicks won the hearts of thousands and became the 2006 American Idol winner. He toured with the other idols this past summer. Stopping along the way the to play with his pre-idol band LMBO and many other people on his journey. His album went on sale December 12th and today came in No. 2 on The Billboard 200 for his Arista debut album titled "Taylor Hicks", Taylor's album sold 298,000 units this first week. Which in anybody standards is quite good. I am sure Taylor is very proud of his accomplishment. He doesn't have to worry anymore about having his voice heard any longer. It has been heard and is very much loved. His accomplishments thus far doesn't stop there however, Taylor Hicks was commended for being a role model to young people, heading the list of the “Ten Best-Mannered People of 2006,” for his example of humility and politeness, as named by the National League of Junior Cotillions, an etiquette and social training program that involves thousands of young people in the United States. Taylor Hicks exemplifies exactly what a American Idol should be. Taylor Hicks song from American Idol "Do I make You Proud?" is a perfect song for Taylor. With all this news being reported about Taylor I am sure everyone agrees that Yes Taylor you do make us proud. None of this news is new to the fans of Taylor though we already knew he had these qualities and could make a truly great album filled with beautiful songs. Taylor Hicks: The Soul Patrol, New CD, Rehearsals.com
Taylor Hicks fan base The Soul Patrol has had some comments made that we are just fawning middle aged women who do nothing but buy Taylor Hicks' CDS and talk about his body parts and what he should or should not do. The fan base is far more than that and I have written an article to show what The Soul Patrol is all about. You can read it here Taylor Hicks Soul Patrol
Some reviews are coming out about Taylor's CD "Taylor Hicks" Most are actually pretty good reviews even those who do not like most of the album, like the tracks written and produced by Taylor Hicks himself. That is a pretty good compliment if you ask me. Goes to show what we already know Taylor Hicks has loads of talent.
I however like the whole CD. I like every song on the CD. Heaven Knows, Give Me Tonight, Gonna Move and Runaround are great up tempo Whomp dance Songs. The Right Place, Places I have been and The Maze are beautiful songs. And of course I love Taylor Hicks' originals of The Deal, Soul Thing and Hell Of A Day. I love this new version of Hell Of A Day. I listen to it over and over. My favorite song Taylor has written is The Fall I absolutely adore this song and was so hoping it would be included on this CD. However, that just makes me look forward to the next one and the possibility that it will be included on it.
With all the excitement of Taylor Hicks new CD I forgot to check out Rehearsals.com I am so glad I did last night. They have a long Taylor medley over there that was put up the 14th and I love it ,hearing Taylor sing one song after another is so great.
Edited:
In Case you don't read the comments here Victor just left message if you haven't been to Rehearsals lately your missing out check out more of Taylor
