Taylor was on The View yesterday; he discussed a little about his book and then sang The Right Place. He sounded and looked amazing. He also looked very happy. Then He was on Hannity and Combs, they discussed American Idol and Taylor’s book, Heart Full of Soul. I loved seeing Taylor on TV twice in one day. I hope soon he will be on Oprah. He is going to be at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair in Indiana Monday. I was hoping to get to go but once again it looks like I’m not leaving Ohio.

Soul Patrol the Bathroom
As every fan of Taylor Hicks knows we take every opportunity we can to promote Taylor and let the world know who he is. I would have never thought of using bathroom vanities though. My husband did, he put a new vanity in our bathroom yesterday. He then told me to go look at the new vanity and let him know what I think. I walked in and it is a beautiful vanity but what makes it unique is my dear sweet husband put a decal on the lower cabinet that says Soul Patrol. I can’t wait to hear the comments from company when they go to the bathroom. They can’t blame me though this time it was my husband lol

Where oh Where is Heart Full of Soul?
Here it is July 11th and I still have not been able to locate Heart Full of Soul. I have checked in the town I live in, at Wal-Mart, the library and our local bookstore. I have even called the town next to us. The bookstores said they would only order it if someone requested it and then they would only order the copies requested. The woman said that if a book doesn’t get a lot of publicity from company that markets the book then they don’t order it. She said she had no idea Taylor Hicks had a book coming out. I then called the Wal-Mart in that town and they will have it Friday, she also said they have had about a dozen people come in to the store in the last day requesting it. She is not sure how many they will have but she took my name and said she will hide one back for me just in case.
I never thought it would be hard to find a copy, so I did not preorder. I have learnt my lesson. From now n if I want something really bad I am not going to count on my local stores having it I will pre-order. However at least I know Friday I can purchase the book. Three more days, I can surely wait that long, I think. Another good thing came out of calling and trying to find it. Our library is going to request copies for each branch, there are four branches so at least their will be chances for people to find the book at the library and read what Taylor Hicks has to say.
I have seen several threads on boards with spoilers of the book. I read a couple just to get me a small Hicks fix. I have since stopped reading these threads though. When Taylor’s CD was set to come out a site had the whole CD where you could listen to it. I could not resist the temptation and I listened many times to each and every song.
I then went to Wal-Mart at midnight the night it released and purchased two CDS. I was so very excited to have the CD in my hands; however the excitement of putting it in the CD player and hearing Taylor’s soulful voice was gone. Now don’t get me wrong. I loved listening to it on the way home. I still play it everyday but the initial excitement was not there because I had already heard each song many times. Except for Hell of a Day, I had not heard the new version of it, so there was that thrill of hearing it for the first time. Noticing the new verse that had been added, it was amazing hearing it that first time.
I ignore the book spoilers, because I want the excitement of reading each and every line for the first time. I want to read Taylor’s Hicks story from beginning to end and let me mind freshly picture each life story he takes me through on my own. I want to be in those moments and not stop and realize I have already that part. I want the fresh excitement of discovery.
It is like at Christmas when you want to know what you are getting. If you find out before you open the gift it is great to know what is ahead for you, however when the time comes to open that gift and you know what is inside even though you are happy about what it is and you know you will use, wear of play with it many times, that initial excitement, when your heart races and you feel like jumping up and down because you got what you wanted, that excitement is gone and cannot be recreated again.
I want that heart pounding feeling when I begin to read Taylor’s book. I want to draw my own conclusion and thoughts on what I read. So even though it is hard to resist the temptation to read the spoilers, I will, I will avoid temptation and Friday Night when Heart Full of Soul is my hands, I will find a nice quiet place and I will sit down and read Taylor’s book from start to finish and then I will reread it again. My excitement will be fresh and new.

HARMONY FOR THE SOUL ANNOUNCES CHANGE OF DATE FOR NATIONAL SOUL PATROL CONVENTION TO BENEFIT KID ONE TRANSPORT
News Release: 21-May-2007 Contact: Candace Golden onefussybg@aol.com
Fresno, CA –May 21, 2007— Harmony for the Soul announced today that it is rescheduling its National Soul Patrol Convention from September 8th, 2007, to May 2008. The event will be held in Birmingham, Alabama. The group is currently working with organizers at Kid One Transport to find a date which may be more amenable to Taylor Hicks’ schedule, increasing the likelihood of his involvement in the event. The new spring date will also ensure that Harmony for the Soul has adequate time to secure additional bands, entertainment, and sponsorship which will make the event one to remember for Taylor’s fans and supporters of Kid One Transport.
As Harmony for the Soul founder and president Candy Golden notes, “Our goal here at Harmony is to hold an event where all Soul Patrollers and fans alike can come together and celebrate our love of Taylor Hicks and to support a worthwhile charity in his name. We have enjoyed so much support for this event from fans, sponsors, and musicians and look forward to future collaborations as we finalize plans for this event.”
About Harmony for the Soul

Taylor Hicks Columbus Ohio Concert

April 24th I attended my first Taylor Hicks Concert. It was in Columbus Ohio. To say I was impressed does not even correctly describe the night or My Taylor Hicks Concert Experience. One thing that I did notice right off the bat when Taylor came out on stage, keep in mind I was front row standing in the pit area no one was in front of me. I was no more than about 5 feet from Taylor. When he walked out and I was watching him, my first feeling was like I was watching a friend up there living his dream. I saw him smile the whole night. You could see the pure joy on his face. I was entranced at first at just thinking ok I feel like I know him. Yes I know I don’t, not claiming that I do. I am just stating what my initial feelings were. It wasn’t like I was looking at this famous unattainable star. It was like I was watching someone who I cared very much about up there living his dream and I was so happy seeing him doing it.
Now of course after a song or two than the fangirly side kicked in. You can’t help it when Taylor Hicks is up there singing and dancing and jumping all over the stage. He puts so much into each song and he tags it to another great song when you least expect it. Taylor Hicks knows exactly how to grab a audience and shake them up and make sure they do not turn away from him at all. You never know what he is going to do next and you don’t want to take the chance of missing out on something and hearing the crowd go nuts just to realize you missed it.
I learnt one thing. Do not try and spend the concert getting great shots of Taylor. If you do this as I did you will miss things and you do not want this to happen. The next Taylor Hicks Concert I will take a couple shots soon after the concert starts, maybe a couple in the middle and a couple near the end. But other than that the camera will be kept put away so I can thoroughly enjoy watching and hearing Taylor Hicks.
I have written and published My Taylor Hicks Concert Experience, if you would like to read more of what my experience was you can find it here.

Taylor Hicks - My Journey as a Fan
I was a Taylor Hicks fan as soon as I saw him audition. I did not even remember his name at that time. For a few weeks I would call him the Gray haired guy. It wasn’t long before I remembered his name. I could have never guessed back then that I was about to begin a journey that would not end when Season Five of AI did.
I rooted for Carrie Underwood in season 4. When she won I was glad. But I did not follow up with what she was doing. I never even knew when her CD came out. I would hear a song Jesus Take the Wheel and for awhile I did not who was singing it. I liked the song is all I knew then I found out it was Carrie. I went and bought her CD. I like a few of the songs but the CD was played a few times. Now I rarely take it out and play it anymore.
So when Taylor won I never could have guessed that over a year later I would still be following his career. I believe I know more about Taylor Hicks than I do Elvis Presley. Which trust me is a lot. I was completely devoted to Elvis… until Taylor Hicks came along.
I have written more articles and blog entries about him than I can remember. I listen to his CD at least once every day. I look on the internet every day for any new information or videos about Taylor. Everyone who knows me knows I am a Proud Member of The Soul Patrol and a devoted fan of Taylor Hicks, they also know I will defend any false negative thing said about him and prove to them why it is false.
I have never attended a concert in my life other than seeing Chubby Checker at a fair and Mike Albert an Elvis Impersonator at a 4th of July festival. These were free events. I am not one to invest money in attending a concert. If Elvis was alive I would pay to see him, which is it.
Now however Taylor Hicks as stormed into my life. I am attending his concert in Columbus Ohio Tuesday April 24th. My husband is staying home with the kids, while I go out to concert and spend the night in a hotel with friends. This is neither something that I would have ever done Pre-Taylor nor something he would have encouraged me to do.
Thankfully my husband realizes how important this is to me. So come Tuesday I will finally see Taylor Hicks live and in person. At first I thought well after I see in concert I will have him out of my system and can finally get back to normal. Then I thought more about this. I do not think anything will nor do I want it to. Maybe now I am finally being normal, the real me is coming out. Someone who knows what she likes and wants to enjoy it and have fun. When I see or hear Taylor Hicks I get a big smile on my face and no matter what my mood is it instantly turns into a happy one. I think Taylor Hicks has accomplished what he wanted. He got his voice heard and there are thousands, millions of us who love it and the whole Package that is Taylor Hicks. He puts a smile on the faces of his fans and brings out the best in us.

Why I'm a Fan of Taylor Hicks

I get asked a lot by people who just don't get the whole Taylor Hicks craze why I am a fan of Taylor Hicks. My first response now after so many times of being asked such a stupid question is “Because this is a free country and I can be.” I mean really who asks people why they are a fan of someone? It is like a Jeff Foxworthy redneck type of question. Should I carry signs to hand these people that says “Here's Your Sign. Get a clue.” I am a fan of Taylor Hicks obviously because I like his voice, his music, his actions, the whole package that is Taylor Hicks.
I don't go around asking people why they are a fan of whoever it is they like. So why do people feel the need to ask a Taylor Hicks fan”why”. However since some just don't get it I will try and explain.
First Taylor Hicks does not act like he is the best thing on earth. He does not care what others think of him. He is not going to change his whole being to please the critics of the world. He worked for 10 years waiting for his big break. This big break came through American Idol. Did he stop working his butt off after that win? The answer is no. After the American Idol tour was over he went in the studio and started getting his CD ready to be released. Let's back up first though.
During the American Idol Tour Taylor Hicks played in several bars after the nights show on tour was over. He had his pre-idol band LMBO shadow him on tour and they would play together to the delight of fans.
Taylor did not just center on his self. He brought his friends into the mix and helped gather them a huge following also. He also had Bucky Covington, Ace Young and Elliot Yamin play with him at these stops . Once again including others in his journey.
Did he have to do this? Once again No. He is the American Idol and he could have just went out his own and worried about his own career. That is not Taylor Hicks though. He wanted to include LMBO and the others from AI.
Now what about The Soul Patrol how are we fans treated? You can be sure we know Taylor Hicks appreciates his fans. We are kept in constant know of the goings on in Taylors career. We get messages left at his myspace site, audio blogs at Gray Charles, rehearsal videos at rehearsals.com and so much more.
Taylor has been very sick during his solo tour. When a lot of artists would have canceled a show or two to get better, Taylor Hicks suffers through and still puts on a heck of show for his fans. He has meet and greets and he even stops by the bus on his way out to sign items for fans.
His album is one I enjoy listening to everyday. I like every song on the CD. When I play Taylor Hicks, the CD puts me a great mood. I also know I had better talk about another thing I like about Taylor Hicks or those of The Soul Patrol will call me out. Yes its supposed to be “all about the music” and I do love the Music. However Taylor Hicks is also a fine looking man. Yes I Thud, you Thud, we all Thud for Taylor. :)
So why I am I fan of Taylor Hicks? Well my question to you if you aren't is Why aren't you a fan of Taylor Hicks?” And before you go off spouting some Simon Cowell kind of crap. Let me tell you you had better be seeing Taylor Hicks live or at least watching the many videos out of Taylor before you try and explain why you aren't.

The McCoys Hang on Sloopy
Taylor's Solo Tour is still going strong. The Soul Patrol is loving each show. I have yet to see Taylor Hicks Live. April 24th in Columbus Ohio I will finally get to see Taylor. To say that the months of waiting have been dragging by is an understatement. However, reading everyone's wonderful recaps of the concerts and their journeys following Taylor on tour are very entertaining and keep those of us waiting for our turn in the know of what to expect. Even though Taylor changes every show in some way it is a guarantee that whatever he does will be something great to enjoy and talk about later.
Some have discussed what they think Taylor will sing when he comes to their town. Taylor seems to sing a song that relates to each city he plays in. So I tried to think what could Taylor possibly sing in Columbus, our state rock song is Hang on Sloopy. Why is this song our state song, you might ask, the answer is this.
In 1965, an Ohio-based rock group known as the McCoys reached the top of the national record charts with "Hang On Sloopy," composed by Bert Russell and Wes Farrell, and that same year, John Tagenhorst, then an arranger for the Ohio State University Marching Band, created the band's now-famous arrangement of "Sloopy," first performed at the Ohio State-Illinois football game on October 9, 1965; and Hang On Sloopy" is of particular relevance to members of the Baby Boom Generation, who were once dismissed as a bunch of long-haired, crazy kids, but who now are old enough and vote in sufficient numbers to be taken quite seriously. Hang on Sloopy," became the Ohio state rock song in November 1985.
This song is played by school bands before football games in Ohio and at pep rallys. Ohio State University's band continues to play this song. It is highly unlikely that you will find a Ohioian that does not recognize Hang on Sloopy. Will Taylor sing the song? One can never tell. Taylor is full of surprises. If he does I am sure the crowd will love the tribute and the way Taylor Taylorizes it.
I have posted two Videos of Hang on Sloopy. One is above is TheMcCoys The one below is OSU MARCHING BAND
You will have to click Taylor Radio twice to mute it so u can play and hear videos

Taylor Hicks: Living His Dream
Living His Dream
A man was on an exciting expedition
This expedition was to have his voice heard
He wanted someone to just give him a listen
He waited with baited breath to get the word
He was told that Yes he had the voice
Each week he came out on top
And he soon became America’s choice
Once he got going he was a force you could not stop
He made it to the end
He did all they asked, too an extent
But on his beliefs he would not bend
He would not give in, he would not relent
He is now living his dream
Though some may try to bring him down
He doesn’t fall for their scheme
He just lives his dream and never do you see a frown
The world needs those who are an example
Of how to ignore those who know not what they speak
Just watch how he handles it all, his actions are very ample
Watch the smile on his face, the love of what he does, he does not
care about their critique.
If one is truly happy and loved in life, than they are above the norm
And can you really ask for more?
Just enjoy what he gives you, when you see him perform
Be happy for him, enjoy what he offers, nothing less, nothing more

Taylor Hicks: National Soul Patrol Convention
Great News! Taylor Hicks fans have gotten together and September 8th 2007 in Birmingham Alabama at Sloss Furnaces we will be having a first National Soul Patrol Convention. This convention is to raise money for Kid One Transport. A Party for the Patrol is coming!
We are Harmony for the Soul fans of Taylor Hicks and as most of you may know we have been working hard to try and get a National Soul Patrol Convention going. The convention has been approved and this year will hopefully be the beginning of what will become an annual National Soul Patrol Convention. As most of you have already heard we were founded with the objective of being a fundraiser for Kid One Transport, a non-profit organization which provides free medical transportation to children and expectant mothers in Alabama, allowing them to receive the essential healthcare and checkups they need and deserve. This is a charity Taylor is very involved in and holds near to his heart. All profits from the convention will go to Kid One Transport.
Plans are currently underway for the convention in Birmingham, Alabama, to be held, September 8th 2007. We are planning multiple activities, a huge musical extravaganza, and a chance for friends old and new to gather and share the common bond of love for an artist and great soul music. Many of us in The Soul Patrol have wanted a place to gather and meet our fellow soul patrollers and see friends we've come to know along the way who share our love of the music and the artists who create it. Provide the soul and they will come. The venue where the convention will be held is Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama. Sloss is a perfect place for the Convention. Sloss has had many Concerts, Festivals, and other special events happen year round there. Party for the Patrol is gong to be huge. We invite you all to come out for a great time, with lots of music and activities and a chance to help Kid One Transport continue to help the kids of Alabama.
Please visit out site Harmony for the Soul at www.harmonyforthesoul.org to be kept up to date on all scheduled happenings as they are finalized. We have a forum and much more there.
If you are interested in helping with this event, or want any information please send an email to our secretary at harmonyforthesoul@earthlink.net.

Taylor Hicks: Radio request
Hey Soul Patrol. We are all looking for ways to promote Taylor Hicks and his single Just to feel that way. We all know certain songs are played all the time and some of these songs get very tiresome hearing all the time. Well I have found something that we can all do to help get Taylor Hicks played on Saturdays and Sundays and also get our opinions in on the music we hear too much and the songs we want to hear more of.
Most of us have heard of Open House Party many radio stations play this every Saturday and Sunday. Listeners can call in and request songs they want to hear.
I went to the website and they also have a Rate the Music survey panel that listeners can join and take surveys about music that is played or will be played and you rate the songs you want to hear and those you have heard too much of. You can join the panel hear
http://ratethemusic.com/
How does this help get Taylor played you might be asking? Well for now we can rate the type of music we like which of course in most cases is the type of music Taylor Hicks sings.
You can also write them and request songs, they also schedule artists for interviews and listeners can call in while the artist is there and ask them questions. We can email them and request to hear Just to feel that way and we can also request they try and get Taylor on for an Interview. The address is requests@openhouseparty.com
On Saturdays and Sundays make sure to call in and request Just to Feel That Way the number is 1-800-669-1010
The stations that have Open House Party are at the end of this blog post.
Here are some interesting faqs I found about Open House Party
Q. How is the music programmed on Open House Party?
A. Unlike any other radio station in the country, Open House Party is programmed 100% by the listeners of the show. We really are THE ALL-REQUEST OPEN HOUSE PARTY! Unlike nearly every radio station, computers are not scheduling all the music in advance. The next song is picked, based on listener requests, usually while the previous song is still being played.
Q. Why is this better?
A. It makes the music immediately responsive to what people want to hear on Saturday or Sunday night when they are in a party mood, not computer generated from sales, radio spin, or callout research which is two weeks old. This allows us to respond to happening, hot new music, while avoiding songs which are tired and burned out. It also is more “organic”, which means the flow and balance of songs is chosen based on sound, rather than computer assigned categories.
Q. What is the number to call to request my favorite song?
A. 1-800-669-1010
Q. How does Open House Party arrange to have all the biggest stars come to the show?
A. Open House Party has a team of people that book guests each week. We work closely with record labels and artist managers. After the artists visit once, they usually want to come back since they have so much fun. The first visit is usually scheduled by the artist management to be 30-45 minutes, but once the artist is in our studio, hanging out with cool people, talking to listeners, and partying they don’t want to leave.
Q. Do the guests ever talk to listeners?
A. Yes! Open House Party loves to have fans talk to their favorite artists as much as possible and the artists love to talk to their fans. Call 800-669-1010 when you hear your favorite artist on the show. If the lines are busy keep trying!
I have joined in the rate the music panel and I hope you all do to. This is the first step in hearing the music we want. The next step of course is to call in every Friday and Saturday night and request Taylor Hicks Just To feel that Way.
Here are the stations that have Open House Party, as you can see there is a station airing it everywhere. Let’s get busy SP.

Taylor Hicks Solo Tour
Taylor Hicks Tour started Last night in Jacksonville, Florida. He still has many more stops on the way, for his first headlining Tour with more still continuing to be added. Some reviews from our starting to come out and those along with fan recaps our proving what The Soul Patrol has always known. Taylor Hicks gives his whole self to making sure the concert goers get a heck of a bang for their buck. Jacksonville.com has a great report of Taylor Hicks in concert it can be read here http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/022207/lif_8150254.shtml The best part of this review other than the fact of them praising Taylor’s songs is “Then he becomes overcome with the grinding and spastic gyrations of a young Joe Cocker only to become possessed like a tent preacher full of the holy spirit. Dancing like this could easily be mocked, but they work for Hicks because he is all about the music. Hicks will always carry that American Idol baggage -- for better or worse -- but of all the winners, he may be the performer who stays true to his own musical muse. Hicks sings from his soul.” Also at the site you can go here http://www.jacksonville.com/ look for “Featured word games” There you will see Taylor Hicks click there to play hangman keep clicking play again to get more. See if you really know all there is to know about Taylor Hicks.
Also a great fan recap at her blog to read is located here http://www.theofficialsoulpatrol.com/contributors/mandy/blog.html what I like best about what she says is Taylor said he had been under the weather and after a few injections was about 80% himself. If what I saw tonight was Taylor at 80%, ‘heaven knows’ what he will be like at 100%!!!! Taylor was nothing short of a swirling dervish with his dancing. The spins, turns, leg gyrations that resemble a funky Charleston minus the hand movements, jumping, bouncing, - WOW! What a boundless bundle of energy! He worked so hard that his shirt was soaked, at least in the front. The jacket had to be hot, but Taylor, this being part of his performance attire, kept it on.

American Idol Season 6 - There is no Taylor Hicks
American Idol Season 6, Is there a Taylor Hicks this year? That is a definite no! At least that is my opinion. I have seen no one thus far that has even half the talent, charisma or likeability that our man Hicks had. For that matter I have seen no one that has as much talent as the top 12 in season five had. There is no one for me that I can say yes I want to see more of them. That may change as the show progresses but as of right now I don’t see that happening. This time last season I knew there would be several to make it in the music business no matter what. I had my favs by this time last season.
Ace Young, Mandisa, Kellie Pickler, Lisa Tucker, Paris and of course Taylor Hicks, were my top 6 picks, though from the beginning I wanted Taylor to win and he did. I grew to also like Elliot a lot. Chris I knew would go further also even though he wasn’t and still isn’t, the style I like.
This year I just am not into it like I was last year. Even with Season 4 I had early people I really liked such as Carrie Underwood, Bo Bice and Constantine. Maybe I am just Idoled out. It may be because last year with Taylor Hicks was the first year I really got into the show and voted and cheered along with Taylor and then he won. Maybe my Idol has already won and I just don’t care to find another. I don’t know what it is and maybe my opinion will change but right now Idol is so boring I really don’t care to watch until Taylor is on the show.
It could also be the fact that Simon has said Taylor Hicks shouldn’t have won, maybe its because he told some girl to stick gum on his face or because they seem to not acknowledge that we the American Viewers choose Taylor Hicks to win. If they want to act to like what we want doesn’t matter, than why should I even care to get into the show again? Why should I vote? Why should we invest our time and emotions in cheering someone on and making sure they win if American Idol will later say we were wrong? I know what I like and I know what I don’t like and no one can tell me I am wrong for my choices. Nor do they have that right.
I’m not saying there is no talent this year. There are a couple that may make me gain interest in the show again. I do not remember their names though. One is the navy guy who missed his wife giving birth to their baby because he was trying out for the show; the other is the woman who has a four year old little girl. Will I vote this year? I have no idea. If someone really catches my musical ear and makes me want to root for them then I may. Lets just hope the show gets better and the American Idol people acknowledge Taylor Hicks won and rightfully so, because he was the best.

Taylor Hicks: News and Happenings
I have so slacked in the last couple weeks in keeping this blog up. I have had a lot going on and making the time to do another thing was almost impossible. A friend wrote me and asked “Hey, where is the Taylor Hicks, Google alerts from you?” I decided I better get back to writing about a subject I love, of course I mean Taylor Hicks.
Great News “Just to feel That Way” is #1 in Adult Contemporary at http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/media/mediabase_splash_adds.cgi This means that among all Media base monitored AC radio stations in the country, “Just to Feel That Way” is the most added song to their radio play lists in the last week. That is great news. Slowly but surely Taylor Hicks Single is making a impact on the Radio and it will just continue to grow.
Another piece of news I saw is that Taylor will be at Country Fest this summer. On June 23rd 2007 in Cadott Wisconsin, at 9pm Taylor will take the stage. He will be singing after Josh Turner and right before Sara Evans. Also performing earlier that day will be Chris Cagle and The Wreckers. In my opinion this is great news. I think several of Taylor songs would do great on the country charts. “The Deal, Hell of a Day, Places I’ve Been, Just to Feel That Way, and The Right Place” could all be great crossover songs.
The tour will be starting in a couple weeks. The first concert is Feb. 21, 2007 at the Florida Theater in Jacksonville Florida. The concert I am attending isn’t until April 24th in Columbus Ohio at Lifestyles Community Pavilion. Seems like forever right now until April but I know The Soul Patrol will be sharing recaps and pictures with all of us throughout the tour to keep us all informed on the experience. We will all feel like we were there with the great recaps everyone shares. Everyone get prepared because in 2 weeks we are all going to be going on a road trip to Taylor Hicks concerts. With the Soul Patrol Fans sharing their great recaps with everyone. Anyone attending the Columbus Ohio concert please post here maybe we all will get a chance to meet up.
Yesterday I was alerted to Taylor leaving a Montage for fans and he mentioned some by name. I was surprised to hear my online name mentioned as I am sure everyone else mentioned was. I am posting two of the Gofish videos from Taylor here.

Kellie Pickler Interview
Today I spoke with Kellie Pickler on the phone for a interview. The whole interview will be up at a site I write for either later tonight or tomorrow. I will post the link when it is ready. But for now I have a small excerpt from the interview for those anxious to hear more news from Kellie.
What song on the CD was the most fun for you?
The most fun, oh gosh they were all great for me. Umm I love “Red High Heels” of course because it’s kind of like my girls anthem. And I love shoes so that’s always fun to sing about (laughing). “Things that Never Cross a Mans Mind” is probably one of my favorite upbeat tempo songs because it is just a sassy song, and it’s a fun song.
Will there be a music video for I Wonder?
Yes we are actually are getting ready to shoot that in the next two weeks I believe.
When will you have a fan mail address for the public to send your fan mail too?
Umm people have been sending mail everywhere. When we get one we’ll let you know. Someone else with Kellie said he would make sure to get the information to me for all the fans to know exactly where to write.
On American Idol you were all so close, which of the girls was you closest to and which of the guys?
Probably the closest to, Oh I got very close to everyone in our own little way. Ace and I were very close like brother and sister, Bucky and I were super close, Chris and I were very close, Katharine and I and Mandisa and I.

Taylor Hicks: Feb5th Radio Release Date
February 5th has been announced at Gray Charles as the release date for Taylor Hicks single “Just to Feel That Way” It has taken a while for this single to be released but I am sure once it hits the air waves it will become a hit. In a talk with VH1 Taylor said this about a video “A video for "Just to Feel That Way" is in the early stages, but Taylor couldn't confirm any details.” So looks like we will be getting to see a Taylor Hicks music video also. We just have to be patient. All good things take a while to create and a good and stable career takes a little while to get there. I would much rather see Taylor’s career start slow and last a long time then start blazing the charts and fade away as so many have done. There are lots of one hit wonders out there. This is not what we want of Taylor Hicks so let’s just watch as his music career blossoms and grows everyday step by step. Taylor has been seen on many TV shows, played golf, showed kindness to those who are longing to be treated with respect and not called Bush Babies. No matter what happens with the charts Taylor Hicks loves his job and he is very happy with what is going on in his life. This is what is important. Being happy with one’s self is what makes life good. Nothing else matters. Below is a little video I created when I saw at Gray Charles “boom impact date radio Feb 5th.”

Taylor Hicks: Soul Patrol Covention
Taylor Hicks fans have come together to try and get a Soul Patrol convention going. Proceeds from the convention will go to Kid One Transport. Here is the release please contact those given in the release to find out more.
We are Harmony for the Soul and would like to introduce ourselves to the legions of Taylor Hicks fans across the planet. We are dedicated to organizing a National Soul Patrol Convention. We were founded with the objective of being a fund raiser for Kid One Transport, a non-profit organization which provides free medical transportation to children and expectant mothers in Alabama, allowing them to receive the essential health care and checkups they need and deserve.. This is a charity Taylor Hicks is very involved in and holds near to his heart. All profits from the convention will go to Kid One Transport.
Plans are currently underway for the convention in Birmingham, Alabama, to be held tentatively on October 12-14, 2007. We are planning multiple activities, a musical extravaganza, and a chance for friends old and new to gather and share the common bond of love for an artist and great soul music. Many of us have wanted a place to gather and meet our fellow soul patrollers and see friends we've come to know along the way who share our love of the music and the artists who create it. Provide the soul and they will come. Venues in the city are being reviewed, however, and we need an idea of attendance and therefore need your help.
We are sending this to inquire how many of you would be committed to attending..depending on the responses we receive, we will then get an idea how and if we shall proceed.
If you are interested in attending this event, please send an email to our secretary at harmonyforthesoul@earthlink.net. We will keep your name and address on record and will continue to keep you updated with developing news.
Please remember we are constantly working behind the scenes to make this a great event for everyone and all information will be provided as it becomes finalized. Anyone interested in helping to organize and assist in future planning of this event, please send an email to our president at onefussybg@aol.com for details on joining our group.

Taylor Hicks & Elvis Presley

I am a huge fan of both Taylor Hicks and Elvis Presley. I have noticed that many fans of Taylor Hicks are also fans of Elvis Presley. Elvis has been gone for 30 years but the love and devotion of his fans is just as strong as it was when he was alive and Taking Care of Business by giving fans the music and movements they craved. I was a small child when Elvis died but I was a bug fan. Begging my parents to watch his movies everytime they were on and play his records anytime my Mom turned the stereo on. As I grew older I stayed a fan of Elvis. Many friends thought I was to outdated to be such a fan of Elvis when Rick Springfield, Don Henley and Ozzy Osbourne were so popular. But noone ever got into my heart and soul like Elvis did.
That all changed with the 5th season of American Idol and Taylor Hicks. Taylor Hicks fans are as devoted to him as the Fans of Elvis are. Taylor can get a crowd as wrapped up in him as Elvis did. Taylor Hicks fans are as devoted and protective to him as Elvis fans are to him. Elvis had moves that got critics yelling he wasn't any good with those moves but the girls could not get enough of his hip moves. This also holds true with Taylor Hicks. Critics can say Taylor can't dance but we the fans love to see him move.
I have written a poem I hope you enjoy
Rock and Roll and Whomp and Soul
Two Men from the south
Were loved the minute they opened their mouth.
One started many years ago
And even though he has left this world, the love for him has never slowed.
Fans would come from near and far
To see this shining star
To hear the beloved voice that poured from his soul
They followed him where ever he would go.
The girls screamed and yelled and talked about this handsome man
Always craving to touch him or just hold his hand
His fans were his world and he always showed them his love
The devotion from his fans has never slowed, even though he is up above.
The second man, sang A Change is Gonna Come
And he danced and sang his way into the hearts of those watching at home
He showed his love of music and he sang from his Heart and Soul
His legion of fans call themselves The Soul Patrol
Fans come from near and far
To see this emerging star
To hear the beloved voice that comes from his soul
They will follow him wherever he goes
The women scream and Thud over this handsome man
Always talking about his hair, his eyes, his smile and even his hands
His fans are the world to him and he always shows them his love
When he sings the fans swear it’s like the angels singing up above.
Two men from the south
Were loved the minute they opened their mouth
Elvis – The King of Rock and Roll
Taylor – The King of Whomp and Soul

Taylor Hicks: Just to Feel That Way
Taylor Hicks album has great songs on every track of his new CD. I could not possibly choose a favorite as I love them all. My 12 year old daughter though favors “Just to Feel That Way” as her favorite. Her reason is simply “Taylor’s voice sounds the best in that song Mom.” Well my 12 year old like all Taylor Hicks fans has great taste. Taylor’s single release will be “Just to Feel That Way.” It was just announced earlier today at Gray Charles. The exact date isn’t known yet, probably around the end of this month or first part of February. Go to Gray’s to get the whole story. While there make sure to listen to Taylor’s New Message. It will be so great to hear Taylor’s voice on the radio and “Just to Feel That Way” is such a beautiful song. This song will attract many new fans. I can’t wait for each song to release on the Taylor Hicks CD I am sure most of them will become hits in lots of genres.

Taylor Hicks at the Orange Bowl
Taylor Hicks played at the Orange Bowl’s Halftime show. He sang the “Runaround” and of course he played the beautiful, musical harp of his. Then Gladys Knight came out and she and Taylor performed “I Heard it Through the Grapevine.” Taylor played the harp amazingly well as usual. You could tell Taylor Hicks was having a blast and very much enjoyed being there with Gladys Knight. Gladys also seemed to enjoy very much sharing the stage with Taylor. They were magnificent together. The only complaints I have of the show is the sound didn’t seem right, or at least through my TV screen and it was way to short. It ended way too soon but it was still great to see Taylor showing his stuff to a larger audience and having the time of his life. I found a video at Gofish that someone got up really fast of the performance. I have posted it hear for you viewing pleasure.

December 27th Billboard posted an article about Taylor Hicks touring scedule. In the article they also stated that "Hicks' album debuted last week at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 but drops this week to No. 15. It has sold 500,000 units thus far in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan." You can read the article at Billboard
Some are a little worried that the album has dropped to No. 15 but all CDS drop at sometime and then come back up as I am sure Taylor's will, especially once the single is put out and starts to air on the radio. But selling 500,000 units in two weeks is amazing and I am sure Taylor Hicks is thrilled with this.
This means Taylor Hicks album is Gold. It hit gold within two weeks. I am sure platinum is close. I enjoy this album so much I love every song on this album. If someone asks me to choose a favorite that is almost impossible for me to do as I throughly enjoy each song. I listen to this CD everyday. Either on my computer, in the car or in my home stereo. I am going to have to buy a couple more. One to keep to replace the one I am surely going to wear out and one to keep unopened just incase I get to meet Taylor in the future and have him sign it.
My home town newspaper also published my interview with Taylor Hicks in the paper. The scan of it is below. Taylor Hicks went on American Idol to have his voice heard. In his words "Because I think I've Got one." We the viewing public agreed and I am so glad that Taylor Hicks decided to try out for American Idol, as I love hearing his voice very much.

Taylor Hicks: No 2 on Billboard and Best Mannered Person 2006
Taylor Hicks, Has come a long way since he auditioned for American Idol back in January. First Simon Cowell said he would not make because he was not marketable. However, Taylor Hicks won the hearts of thousands and became the 2006 American Idol winner. He toured with the other idols this past summer. Stopping along the way the to play with his pre-idol band LMBO and many other people on his journey. His album went on sale December 12th and today came in No. 2 on The Billboard 200 for his Arista debut album titled "Taylor Hicks", Taylor's album sold 298,000 units this first week. Which in anybody standards is quite good. I am sure Taylor is very proud of his accomplishment. He doesn't have to worry anymore about having his voice heard any longer. It has been heard and is very much loved. His accomplishments thus far doesn't stop there however, Taylor Hicks was commended for being a role model to young people, heading the list of the “Ten Best-Mannered People of 2006,” for his example of humility and politeness, as named by the National League of Junior Cotillions, an etiquette and social training program that involves thousands of young people in the United States. Taylor Hicks exemplifies exactly what a American Idol should be. Taylor Hicks song from American Idol "Do I make You Proud?" is a perfect song for Taylor. With all this news being reported about Taylor I am sure everyone agrees that Yes Taylor you do make us proud. None of this news is new to the fans of Taylor though we already knew he had these qualities and could make a truly great album filled with beautiful songs. Taylor Hicks: The Soul Patrol, New CD, Rehearsals.com
Taylor Hicks fan base The Soul Patrol has had some comments made that we are just fawning middle aged women who do nothing but buy Taylor Hicks' CDS and talk about his body parts and what he should or should not do. The fan base is far more than that and I have written an article to show what The Soul Patrol is all about. You can read it here Taylor Hicks Soul Patrol
Some reviews are coming out about Taylor's CD "Taylor Hicks" Most are actually pretty good reviews even those who do not like most of the album, like the tracks written and produced by Taylor Hicks himself. That is a pretty good compliment if you ask me. Goes to show what we already know Taylor Hicks has loads of talent.
I however like the whole CD. I like every song on the CD. Heaven Knows, Give Me Tonight, Gonna Move and Runaround are great up tempo Whomp dance Songs. The Right Place, Places I have been and The Maze are beautiful songs. And of course I love Taylor Hicks' originals of The Deal, Soul Thing and Hell Of A Day. I love this new version of Hell Of A Day. I listen to it over and over. My favorite song Taylor has written is The Fall I absolutely adore this song and was so hoping it would be included on this CD. However, that just makes me look forward to the next one and the possibility that it will be included on it.
With all the excitement of Taylor Hicks new CD I forgot to check out Rehearsals.com I am so glad I did last night. They have a long Taylor medley over there that was put up the 14th and I love it ,hearing Taylor sing one song after another is so great.
Edited:
In Case you don't read the comments here Victor just left message if you haven't been to Rehearsals lately your missing out check out more of Taylor

Taylor Hicks
Its is The Day 12-12, Taylor Hicks CD is now in stores. I waited until late last night to finish my Christmas shopping. I did this so I could buy 2 copies of the CD as soon as it went on sell. At 12:10 A.M. they did not have them out yet. I went up to the electronics section and asked them to please get them. They did with no argument at all though they did not know who he was, of course I was more than happy to fill them in on whom Taylor Hicks is. By the time I left I had them interested and they were getting ready to listen to it. If I had not had to get up early to send the kids to school I would have stayed around to catch what they had to say after listening. I am sure however they liked it. Everyone who has been to my house and I have played Taylor's music for them either his pre-idol, idol or new songs on VH1 have been Taylorized. Well all the women anyway. I have only won the men over when I let them hear Heaven Knows on VH1. Now I am watching Taylor on The Early Show. He is describing Whomp Music. I do believe the world will accept and love Taylor Hicks and his New Style of Music.
This morning when my alarm clock went off the DJ was telling some guy he was going to get to hear a new style of music in a few and then he wanted his opinion. Well of course this woke me up and I was eagerly waiting for the commercial to end so I could hear them discuss the New Style of music. Of course I thought they would come back and say Whomp Modern Soul ant then play Runaround. But when the commercial ended the DJ announced it was acid country. No I do not now what it is I shut the clock off when i found out it was not Taylor. I however do not it will be long before one day I am woke up by the sounds of Taylor Hicks and Whomp Music.

Taylor Hicks: The Journey
I have written several articles about Taylor Hicks and would love for you to read them if you have not yet. Taylor Hicks has come a long way since the first article I wrote. I remember when we were all so excited for his CD to come out and we all thought December would never get here. However even while waiting for the CD to come out we were never without news and information about Taylor. Whether it be recaps of the Idol Tours and fans who attended and shared the experience with us, or those who attended the after show gigs with LMBO. Taylor stayed in the public eye. From magazine and radio interviews, playing with Snoop Dog, WIllie Nelson and The Allman Brothers, videos at rehearsals.com and so much more. The journey up to this point was an exciting time and now its just going to get better, as Taylor Hicks' CD is about to merge onto the music scene and then his tour starts. It has been a very exciting and active year and I do not think it is going to let up. Who knows what Taylor Hicks has left to surprise and entertain us with.

Taylor Hicks: A peak into the Interview
Taylor Hicks was kind enough to talk to me via phone about his music and his future plans. The interview will be up shortly for everyone to read. I will post the link when it is up. I thought I would give you a small sneak peak into my conversation with Taylor Hicks yesturday. Enjoy and you should be able to read it all shortly.
You've been compared to the likes of the great Ray Charles and Elvis Presley. Is it a lot of pressure to live up to the hype people are creating for you or are you more concerned with leaving your own mark on the industry?
Taylor - I'm very flattered to be in the same sentence as those two artists and I'm just trying to really make my own path and mark my own way.
It's rare to find a relatively new artist cultivate such a strong following of fans in a few months' time. How does it feel to have such a strong outpouring so early?
Taylor - Well it really helps the cause, it really helps my music and I'm just very appreciative of all those people that are on The Soul Patrol.

Taylor Hicks: My Interview With Taylor Hicks
I know many are waiting for me to let them know how my interview with Taylor Hicks went. It is easiest just to post it here than try to post everywhere. Taylor is a very nice person. He answered all my questions so I will have a good article for everyone to read soon. I was very nervous. My hands even started shaking. Taylor told me to not be nervous. Taylor is having a blast and he loves his job. I told him I liked his album had heard it at VH1. He was thrilled to hear this. I cannot give a lot of details right now you will have to wait until the article is ready. Taylor Hicks is just the way we perceive him to. Even though it was over the phone I could tell he is as sweet and sincere as we feel he is. He is as excited over this album as we are and he is very appreciative of The Soul Patrol.

Taylor Hicks: Listen to Whole Cd
What a treat today was. I got up to watch Good Morning America. Taylor Hicks was playing at Hard Rock Café. The Soul Patrol was there in full force smiling and having a great time singing right along with Taylor. Once again you could see Taylor was having the time of his life. Just seeing the smile on his face is contagious.
After that I go to Gray Charles.com and low and behold I see a link to hear Taylor Hicks CD. At first I stall a little do I really want to hear it all before I get my CD? Then I decide yes I do I will still be thrilled when I pop the CD into my car stereo and turn it full blast on my way home from Wal-Mart.
This CD is everything I expected it to be and more. Taylor Hicks knows exactly what it takes to make not just a good song but a truly great, soulful unforgettable song. It is hard to choose a favorite so I won’t even try. If you aren’t a fan of Taylor Hicks yet just go buy his CD on Dec 12th and you will be Taylorized! Taylor Hicks, The Soul Patrol is so thankful for you and bringing back real music. You will be a legend and The Soul Patrol will continue to grow.

Taylor Hicks: Runaround
I did not get to see Runaround on TV. However Taylor Hicks Runaround is now up at gofish.com. I love this song more and more every time I listen to it at Taylor Hicks.com. However after seeing it performed just now by Taylor that is it. It is my favorite song. Taylor is just amazing he is a true musician in every sense of the world. If I ever seen anyone have so much fun while they are out there singing it is Taylor Hicks. Every time I see or hear Taylor Hicks it just seems he raises the bar higher and higher.
On AI when Taylor did Jailhouse Rock and In the Ghetto that was the moment I was convinced without a doubt that he would win. I am a huge Elvis fan and Taylor just won me even more over if that was possible when he did Elvis so well. I did not think he would top it. Then finale night he came out playing that harp and rockin it. I thought ok that is the top. However after seeing Taylor Hicks doing White Christmas and Runaround I now am convinced he will keep raising the bar higher and higher and keep leaping right over it.
Some think Runaround is not Taylor but I think it is exactly Taylor. Taylor Hicks is so talented he can take any song and make it a winner. This song will be topping the charts and if I ever get to see Taylor perform it live I will be extremely happy. Taylor keep doing what you do we love you for it.

Taylor Hicks: Taylor Hick's Rockin White Christmas
I tuned into Christmas at Rockefeller Center. Where I am at I knew I would only get to see Taylor Hicks sing White Christmas. I know White Christmas is a slow song and I love fast Christmas songs. However since Taylor was singing it I knew I would love it.
Taylor started the song as usual I am loving, seeing and hearing Taylor but I am so wishing I could see and hear him do Runaround. Well all the sudden when I least expect (well ok I knew Taylor would make it his own. However we got more than expected.) Taylor Hicks kicks it in and Taylorizes the song.
Taylor completely rocked this song out. With him scatting, movin and grovin. He was all smiles. I could tell he was having a blast and I thought there you go Taylor show them you can rock it out. Then the harp comes out. I was smiling right along with Taylor. My husband was watching Jericho in the front room I kept yelling for him to get to the bedroom and listen to Taylor Hicks rock it out. He ignored me oh well his loss.
This is the best version ever of White Christmas. I was thoroughly pleased and proud that Taylor Hicks once again made it do it what it do. The Soul Patrol knew what we were doing when we spent all that time voting for Taylor Hicks. All the doubters will soon be changing their tune.
