I may regret writing this blog entry at a later point in time. For now though I just feel the need to post it. I was looking for information in books and online about domestic violence for a piece I am working on and I found something very familiar about the signs of domestic violence.
You are probably wondering why I am talking about domestic violence on a Taylor Hicks blog. Well some of the descriptions describe what American Idol has done to Taylor Hicks and/or his fans by the way they constantly say America got it wrong when Taylor won instead of their chosen golden boy. So many things they have said and done fit the domestic violence descriptions. Below are some of the descriptions I found that I think relate.
Dominance — Abusive individuals need to feel in charge of the relationship. They will make decisions for you and the family, (we are Taylor Hicks supporters and they think they can make our decisions on what we should or shouldn’t support) tell you what to do, and expect you to obey without question. (we know Taylor didn’t obey without question and AI does not like that) Your abuser may treat you like a servant, child, or even as his possession. (AI does seem to have a contract that treats the Idols as their possessions)
Humiliation — An abuser will do everything he can to make you feel bad about yourself, or defective in some way. (Saying America got it wrong with choosing Taylor Hicks is saying they do not think he was good enough which means defective and I am sure that can’t make Taylor feel good) Insults, name-calling, shaming, and public put-downs are all weapons of abuse designed to erode your self-esteem and make you feel powerless. (If they think they can make Taylor feel powerless maybe they think eh will go away. We all know Taylor will prove them wrong)
Intimidation — Your abuser may use a variety of intimation tactics designed to scare you into submission. Such tactics include making threatening looks or gestures, The clear message is that if you don't obey, there will be consequences. (The consequences in this case.. ruin career or decrease the momentum)
Denial and blame — Your abuser may minimize the abuse or deny that it occurred. He will commonly shift the responsibility onto you: Somehow, his abuse is your fault. ( They would like people to believe Taylor not selling millions and millions of CDS is because America got it wrong and Taylor isn’t good enough.)
I usually try and stay only posting the positive news and information about Taylor but I decided this time I would post a little of what I truly think and feel. I do not even watch AI anymore because I do not like the way they treated Taylor and his fans. I am one of those fans and I do not like someone telling me I got it wrong when I choose what I like.
Obviously millions like and admire Taylor Hicks and know he has the talent and determination to pull through no matter what AI might want people to believe. If America got it wrong then maybe AI should just cancel the show right now because America will probably get it wrong again. Why on earth would they want to take the chance for America to think they know what they like again just to discover we aren’t capable of knowing what we like?
Ok that’s my vent for the day.

New Florida & Country Music Stations on HD Radio
We all have am/fm radio. It is been around for many, many , many years. Some of us also have heard of and may even have satellite radio. Now there is another option to radio reception. Digital radio this is a ground antenna based radio it is a digital version of FM & AM.
There are several cool benefits. They also have new country music stations. They offer iTunes tagging which is great because if you hear a song on the radio you want to download you hit the tag button and the song is able to be downloaded via itunes. That would be great to get any Taylor Hicks songs we hear or any other artist we like. They also have Florida High Definition Radio stations or any area you want.
With digital radio you will have crystal clear sound and it is a free service. You get More free music, news, sports and weather, New genres, new music formats, Artist name and song title on your radio screen via text-on-the-screen and much more.
Sounds great to me and I can’t wait to get it. A better way to enjoy the music I like not just the music the radio stations want me to like.

If You Ask They Will Come
We have all discussed being able to find Taylor Hicks CD in our local stores. I have two copies of my own that I bought for myself when it was first released and at that time I also bought one for a friend and my sister.
I saw it in Wal-Mart for a few months after but it was usually hard to find. For the past few months know matter how hard I looked for it I couldn’t find it. I was going to buy a copy for a friend of mine. I also have not been able to find his book Heart Full of Soul for awhile either.
Well yesterday we went to Wal-Mart to get some new patio furniture. My kids as always went off on their own to play games and such. A few minutes after they went off on their own my daughter came running in to the lawn and garden section. She had Taylor’s CD and book in her hands. “Look Mom I found them for you, they are here again.” She was so happy she found what she knew I had been complaining about not being in the store anymore.
Needless to say I bought the CD for my friend and the book also. She didn’t say she wanted it but I figured might as well give her something good to read. I went in look in the CD and book sections. There were only two books left. I didn’t see anyone around to ask when they got them. However when I went back to electronics there were about a dozen CDS and I asked the clerk when they got them in. He said they had just got a small shipment in the other day because a few people had called in requesting them.
So if there is an interest being shown then the stores are getting more in. It made my day to know some had requested the CDs. I will go back and check in a few days and see how many is left.

Love, Loss, Distraction - Music
We all have friends in our life that we loose contact with over the years. We often think of them and wonder how their life is? That is how it was with me with my friends Sam and Sheila. I met them when I was almost 21 years old. They were my neighbors and seeing as we were the only ones in the neighborhood that were around the same age we became fast friends. My husband had walked out on me and my 1 year old son so their company was one I treasured. They also had a son my son’s age. The boys loved having someone to play with.
We even moved into together to share expenses. After awhile they moved out of state. I remarried a great man and we lost contact for a little while. My husband had gone to school with Sam and eventually we found each other again.
Sheila was someone I could tell my secrets to or discuss any problem with. Sam was the guy who would not let you be sad or depressed. He would do anything he could to cheer you up and it worked. If you needed something and Sam could help you he would be right there to do that.
About 5 years ago I lost contact with them again. I thought of them often and wondered how they and their kids were doing, but I knew no way to contact them. Last week Sheila found me on myspace. She sent me a message saying she needed to tell me something. I saw on her myspace that her daughter is expecting a baby. So when I gave Sheila my number I figured she was calling to tell me that.
Sheila called and asked how I was doing. I in turn asked how they were all doing. I got the shock of my life when she told me that she had lost Sam last March. I was so shocked I started to cry and then fought to get myself under control and asked her what had happened.
She had to compose herself to tell me. Sam was only 40 years old and he had never had heart problems that they knew of except an occasional slight pain. He went to play basketball with her cousin and on their way walking back home he had a heart attack and died. We never know how much time we have on earth but such a sudden death of a person, a young person on top of that is so unexpected. I the blink of an eye Sheila’s and the children’s life has been forever changed.
Sheila and I talked about some other things and Taylor Hicks got brought up. Sheila informed me that Sam loved Taylor Hicks. That may not seem like such a big deal however to me it is. Not many around me understand my support of Taylor. But now I know I had a friend who got Taylor. It saddens me that I didn’t get to talk with Sam about Taylor.
Sam may be gone but he will live on in Sheila’s Memory and that of their son and daughter. Sheila and Sam were married many years. There was a lot of love in that marriage. I know Sheila was devastated to loose her Sammie. I told Sheila she needs to find things to get interested in to take her mind off her loss at least for a little while;
I then did some self assessment. I think part of the reason I am such a huge fan of Taylor Hicks is because he is my distraction for the bad things in life or in times of turmoil. I lost my Dad in March 1999 (March is a sad month). I have never quite gotten over the loss of my Dad, but when I saw Taylor Hicks on American Idol I not only loved what I heard and saw, I knew my Dad would have loved Taylor to. Whenever I am feeling depressed I put in one of Taylor’s CDS or go online and watch a video. This is a sure way to put a smile on my face at least for a little while. We all need a distraction that takes us away from the stresses of life for a little while.

Just my Thoughts
We need a new Taylor Hicks CD, concerts, Concert DVD or something to get Taylor Hicks’ fan base back on track. It seems there is always some kind of turmoil or another going on everyday. Fans of other artists are attacking Taylor fan boards disguising themselves as a Taylor Hicks fan. They are doing this to destroy the Soul Patrol. It is obvious to all that pay attention that the goal is to bring the fan base down and hopefully in turn it will bring Taylor’s support down which in turn will assure his career goes down in flames. The Soul Patrol needs to unite and support Taylor and all things Taylor while he is out creating music for his next CD. The best way to do this is to ignore those that are out to destroy the SP. Ignore anything negative. I know that is easier said than done. It is human nature to defend what you care about. But in this case it just keeps it going. People that are out to disrupt, cause trouble and belittle Taylor and his fans are the same as a bully. They will keep at it as long as there is someone to fight with.
But just like a bully if they are ignored (yes I know Kick a bully’s ass and he will stop… this is online, kind of hard to kick a virtual ass don’t you think?) if they are ignored no matter what they say then they soon grown tired and bored and move on to something more interesting.
There is another way to look at it. Like they say any publicity is better than no publicity. If someone is talking about something whether it is good or bad it will create interest. Yes bad publicity may cause some problems but it will also create a interest and people that choose to use to use their own mind to decide what they like, dislike, agree with or disagree with may just decide that “Hey that Taylor Hicks is good.”
Arguing with someone set on causing trouble is like running on treadmills instead of riding a bicycle, thinking you will arrive at your destination. Ok I know lame comparison but the whole idea of causing trouble in a fan base and to a artist who has never done a thing to you is about the lamest thing a person can waste their time doing.

Bucky Covington

This blog is about all things Taylor Hicks. I am a huge supporter of Taylor. I think he is very talented and his career has just begun. I do however support a lot of artists. One such artist is Bucky Covington. Anyone who knows me knows that I like Bucky almost as much…no change that… Bucky Covington is country music, rocking country music so I would say I like him just as much as I do Taylor.
Last summer I saw Bucky twice. Went for a third but got upset at some things that happened and left before the concert started. I could still kick myself over that. You can vote for Bucky Covington’s song a Different World for the CMT Music Awards.
So if you like Bucky go vote for him and if you haven’t heard him check him out.

Snore No More

In the last few years I have started snoring. This is a problem faced by many people. My husband says it is so bad he can not even sleep with me. I admit my snoring has even woken me on occasion. Recently I got the Anti snor Therapeutic Ring. I was very skeptical about this working. How could a ring possibly stop my noises when I sleep? I have used the ring about 12 nights. My husband has not been able to sleep all night in the room with me for a couple years. Since I started using the ring he did manage to stay in the bedroom all night a couple nights. He said my snoring as quieted a little but not enough. So I cannot say for sure if the ring works or not. I am sure results will be different for different people. I may have some sleeping disorder and have an appointment to be tested. Since my husband did spend a couple full nights in the bedroom I am assuming it must work some. I have had a couple people I know that tried it and said it worked for them. Like all products for people who snore it is just up to each person to find the product that works for them or go to the doctor and see if their are health problems causing the problems.

Baby Shower
My niece is having her first baby. I promised her that I would get a crib. I was supposed to get it this weekend. But a blizzard came in and kept must of Ohio at home over the weekend. It is Sunday and the roads are just now starting to be cleared. Thank God for the internet I found a site online and ordered her an Emily crib. This is this is the brand crib I used for my own kids. They are very nice cribs and hold up quite well. It cost me a little bit more this way because I used the two day shipping but at least she will have the crib in time for shower. I also got her a Taylor Hicks CD. I figured new Mommy might enjoy some good music and the baby might to.

Skin Needs Sun
Here in Ohio we just had a blizzard this weekend. We got about 8-10 inches where I live. I am so ready for spring. I can’t wait to be able to get outside and enjoy the warmth and the sun. Lord knows my skin needs some sun badly. My skin has become some light it looks as if I may have done some skin whitening. If I don’t get some sun soon I may appear see through. Yes I am exaggerating but come on I have had enough winter to last through two future seasons. One day it could be 60 degrees and the next we could have 3 inches of snow. That I am not exaggerating about. This has been a long and strange winter.

Personalized Car Items
A few months ago I as searching online for personalized steering wheel covers. I found a site that let you personalize almost anything for your car with anything you chose. From steering wheel covers to floor mats, seat covers and even third brake light that would say whatever you wanted when you put your brakes on. I can’t seem to find the site again right now. But I am also a huge Elvis Presley fan and I found a site that sells Elvis Presley Steering wheel covers and seat covers. I just wonder if there is a site that sells decals for car spoilers. I will keep searching I know with all the information on the web and all the products that are sold I will find a site for that soon. If not maybe my neice can paint a saying on my spoiler for me. If you are interested in a Elvis Steering wheel cover it is here http://www.autoaccessory4u.com/elprauac.html

Fujifilm Digital Camera - Ready for Concerts
Last spring and summer I attended many concerts. Taylor Hicks, Bucky Covington 3 times and Tracy Lawrence, I took several pictures of all these concerts and at my last Bucky Covington concert my camera that I had had for many years broke. A couple months ago I started searching for another camera to be prepared for this spring and summer concert season. We enjoy outdoor concerts so unless Taylor was to come into my area during the winter I only attend outdoor concerts. So anyway I looked at many different types of cameras. There are so many too choose from, that do many different things. I however opted for a used Fujifilm finepix A340 from Ebay. My previous camera was a Fujifilm. This camera withstood about 8 years of use and with having kids who took pictures to it took some abuse also and held up quite well. I decided I felt safer with sticking with the camera model I knew and trusted. This new camera is everything I expected from a Fujifilm. Their digital cameras take great pictures in many different scenes. There is no doubt in my mind that I will stick with buying Fujifilm cameras. Now I’m ready for the concert season.

Paula Abdul - Is she making a comeback?
I have always been a huge of Paula Abdul. When I was in early 20s it was Paula Abdul, Samantha Fox, Def Leppard and of course of Elvis Presley that you would mpst likely hear playing at my house or in my car. When I first tuned into American Idol it was Season 3 had heard friends talking about the show and they mentioned Paula Adul was a judge on the show. That was the only reason I even tuned in to check out the show. I did not get involved in the show much until Season four when we rooted for Carrie and then of course came the Season Of Taylor Hicks. I call it the Season of Taylor Hicks because that is truly the only person I cared about at all. I liked some others ok but it was only Taylor I wanted to be the next American Idol. So during all this I kept wondering if Paula would ever sing again. Forever Your Girl and Cold Hearted Snake as always be favorites of mine. But I had given up on Paula doing anymore music. Then the other day I saw this video and was thrilled to see Paula is back. I love this video and Paula sounds as good as ever. While I may not be watching Idol these days, I am busy watching Big Brother and Jericho and hubby has to watch Lost I still am thrilled to see Paula as a song out again and I hope this is just the begining. Maybe there is a Paula Abdul Album we can expect in the future. As far as Simon I think he is obnoxious and I have many reasons to think that but that is just my opinion. However if Simon was around much I would need a air purifiers.
Dance Like Theres No Tomorrow
Cold Hearted Snake
Forever Your Girl
Samantha Fox Touch Me
Def Leppard Love Bites

Sports, Music, ETC
It seems not only have fans of Taylor Hicks discovered the sounds of his soulful voice and the love of music once again they have also discovered the love of sports. Taylor has done several golf gigs and played basketball, fans have tuned into these sports to catch a glimpse of Taylor or walked around the golf course has he played hoping to get a chance to tell him how much they admire him. Some fans have even started golfing or maybe taken it back up again, played basketball and more. Taylor Hicks has given us great music and a love once again for great music and he also given fans the push to try sports they may have never tried before or had given up playing long ago. A place called Sports Authority may be a place you would like to check out you can also get Sports Authority coupons. It is always great to try something new in life because as the old saying says you never know what you will like until you try it.

Skin Problems
Here I am 41 years old and I was still fighting acne now and then. I could not figure why nothing seemed to stop me from getting the acne breakout a few times a year. I have also been getting a rash on my neck and chin for about 10 years now. The doctors kept giving me medicine for it but it always came back. Nothing is more embarrassing than going out some where and having a red rash covers your neck and part of your face. A family member kept telling me it was makeup causing it but I thought they were crazy. Almost every woman wears makeup and has no problems. For Christmas she bought me some makeup for Christmas she said if I used it instead of my current makeup she thought my rash and acne problems would be gone. I have been using it ever since. Now it’s only been 2 months but my rash is gone and has not come back. The acne I am not sure about yet as I only get it a few times a year anyway. It is mineral makeup. The makeup is made up totally of minerals and vitamins. If you are having trouble with acne or rashes the try this makeup, it may be just what you need.

Spring
I am getting ready for spring. Spring Fever hit me long before winter even started. I just purchased a new Video Camcorder and Digital camera. I got a nice bag to carry all my supplies in. I plan to attend many concerts this year. I am so hoping to at see Taylor Hicks at least once and I know of to Bucky Covington shows I will be attending. This bag makes it easy to carry all I need to record he great video shots and get those great pictures. There is even room for my cell phone and ID and such. I can fit almost anything I need in this thing besides kitchen faucets. I am sure if I needed them for some reason I would find a way to carry them also. This has been such a long and strange winter in Ohio. One day it may be 60 and sunny the next 40 and rainy and then the next could be 19 degrees or less, snow and ice and then back up to 60 again. I am so ready for the sun and fun of the spring and summer months.

Why Buy.com Rocks
Ok I am sure you clicked on this thinking since the title says why buy.com rocks and this is a Taylor Hicks Blog, then just maybe Buy.com has done something with Taylor. Well that isn't the case. Well in a way it is as my video will show you. Anyway I have been wanting a new digital camera and a camcorder to document all the things my kids and family members do and to also be prepared should Taylor come to my area for a concert. Buy.com had exactly what I needed. I got my camera and camcorder for a much better deal then I could have gotten at a store for just the camcorder. So below you can see my video about why buy.com rocks. Yes I found a way to incorporate Taylor into it. Ryan Seacreast is the Deal of The week Host so this gave me a perfect way to get Taylor into this video and still keep with my main theme about why I love buy.com
Enjoy and please leave me comments here or at YouTube.

Paula Abdul Get's It Right about Taylor Hicks
We have been hearing Simon say things about Taylor Hicks ever since he won American Idol, like America got it wrong and he didn't like Taylor Hicks and so on. We also read a quote from Randy a few weeks back blaming the American Idol's and contestants and not putting any blame on the way they are handled and the music they are told to make.
Now Paula Abdul has weighed in on the subject of Taylor Hicks. Paula's response is one of the best responses with the truth being told. Here is the part about Taylor Hicks.
Is there something we can learn from Taylor Hicks' huge popularity on American Idol and subsequent lack of sales successes?
Well you know, it doesn't, I would say this. Nothing takes away from the talent that these kids have. The talent doesn't go away. It's sometimes mishandled and sometimes misguided. And there are very specific reasons why people like Kelly Clarkson sell a lot of albums, and Carrie Underwood and you have the unbelievable talent of Fantasia Barrino and Ruben Studdard and Taylor Hicks, that don't get to have the same amount of sales…. However I do believe that maybe the album was not… filled with the right materials that suited them. I think that you have to take the right time and the right producer and the right rollout and the right support. It's not just based on they're not talented--there's a lot of factors that go into it that people fail to realize. The right team, the right marketing strategy. That is 90% of it. You have the talent: the talent is now a given. It's the other factors that go into it that predicate the success. Not predicate: but really, that's the success. If you don't have the right strategy, the right production, the right song material. It's all of that that goes into it. It's not to say their albums were bad at all, quote honestly I found good tracks on every single Idols' albums. It's who picks what and who allows them to shine true. A lot of times they don't have a lot of faith in the artistic direction. The second go around you can impart your vision. That's why the call it the sophomore slump. For these kids it's already the sophomore slump when they put their first album out, because they're being compared with being the winner!
According to Simon, he'd say it different: Taylor should never have won. He wasn't a fan. To read the rest of Paula Abdul's interview click here.

Taylor on Regis and Kelly
It has been a long time it seems since we saw Taylor Hicks back on our television screens. But Friday we finally got to see the Soul Man back again and he was in top notch shape and performance like always.
The ABC television show Regis and Kelly aired Wedding Week 08. Kacy Hardenbrook and Jordan Edsall of Garrett Indiana were the lucky wedding couple. You can read their heart-touching story here. http://www.kpcnews.com/articles/2008/02/...553649.txt When Jordan was asked who his favorite American Idol was his reply was Taylor Hicks. So thanks to this wonderful couple and The Regis and Kelly Show we were able to see Taylor again, hear is wonderful voice and share in the excitement of beautiful wedding for a truly well deserving couple.
Now the video of Taylor singing The Right Place and dancing with Kelly Rippa can be watched whenever we choose thanks to fans posting them on YouTube. I don’t what makes all this work whether its is fiber optic cables or something else but whatever it is I am so glad we have the internet and ways to almost always view anything we have previously saw on TV. I will be watching these videos a lot in the future along with my other favorites.

Spring Fever
I am getting a case of Spring Fever, it is setting in early and waiting for the weather to change is driving me crazy. Last spring and summer I was attending Taylor Hicks and Bucky Covington concerts, going to fairs, picnicking and anything out doors. I seems like winter has gone on for so long and I can’t wait to load up the car and the kids and head out to enjoy the warm weather and the beautiful nights filled with the sounds of great music. The holidays and the cold weather has kept me inside and not exercising and over eating it is time to start getting back in shape and ready for the bikini season. I have to buckle down and get some exercise in or maybe I try some hoodia or something for the supposed easy way to weight loss. Oh well either way summer is coming to Ohio so is Bucky Covington and hopefully Taylor Hicks.

More Just talking
Earlier I was talking about how Taylor’s life has changed and I mentioned he can now afford cufflinks in gold. Well I decided to do some searching on these and I found a set you can get engraved he could put TH or SP lol but any way these would set a person back $600 for 14kt gold engraved ones. Yea I imagine during his bar days these would probably not have been in his budget. I bet they are now.

Things Change - Sometimes for the better
People are discussing Taylor and the fact he is no longer with JRecords. My sister in law called me to tell me what she thought was new news. Hey Taylor was dropped from his label because he didn’t sell enough. I let her know that it was a mutual agreement with Taylor and JRecords and that I am sure Taylor is on to bigger and better things. I also informed her Taylor Hicks had sold 700,000 CDS and earned 1.9 million on his concerts. To which she said well then why are they saying bad record sells, that doesn’t sound bad to me. Of course I agreed many would love to sell that many. Taylor I am sure no matter what is happy he went from not being known all over to being recognized wherever he is at, he sold 700,000 CDS that’s not counting the sells of his two independent albums, and when he dresses up he can now afford gold cufflinks. I’m sure Taylor loves the way things are going and had some surprises up his sleeve.

Time to get in shape
Seems winter is the time when we all tend to slack off on diets and exercise. Then Spring we have to try and get in shape for summer. I have already got plans for this spring and summer, first is the National Soul Patrol Convention this May then in June we are planning to go to Myrtle Beach July starts a string of Bucky Covington concerts here in Ohio and I am hoping Taylor Hicks shows here in Ohio sometime this spring or summer. Such a short time to get in shape and lose those extra holiday pounds, maybe I better just go get a elliptical machine now and get started.

Help someone
I was alerted to a site today by a friend. The site is pretty cool. Car Angel.com helps single mothers, orphans, homeless and teen rehab. They are a non-profit company that uses car and other donations to make videos for kids and teens. They have given away over 2.4 million videos. You can donate car, boats, almost anything and you get a tax deduction while helping someone in need. YouTube has a video posted about this great chance to help others view the video here http://www.youtube.com/boatangel

Taylor Hicks no longer with J Records
Taylor Hicks is no longer with Arista/J records. The boards are in almost in total agreement that this will probably be a good move for Taylor’s career. Taylor can now make his music the way he wants. He will not have to make music that he is told to. But there is one question that many have. If Taylor is not with a major record label how will his music get out to the masses? I will not even claim to know how one goes about getting their music out there when they are independent. But I do know one thing. Even if Taylor does not go back to J Records or sign with another label, his music will still be out there for supporters or Taylor Hicks to purchase. I believe with Taylor doing his next CD the way he wants it will be a bigger hit than the one he did after winning American Idol.
Taylor’s 2 independent CDs before Idol are in huge demand. They are both filled with great songs that really showcase Taylor’s voice and talent. If there is no record label and Taylor is completely independent then it is a directbuy and all profits stay in Taylor’s pocket. That sounds much better to me to know that the money I spend for a CD goes to the artist and not mostly to the record label. Either way it sounds like a win-win situation. As log as I can get Taylor’s music and he gets the money then it all sounds good to me.

Grey Poupon Mustard Review
(I was asked to try these Grey Poupon Mustards and to give my honest Review)

There are many good things about writing a blog. Such as, getting to voice your opinions about whatever you choose, gaining friends with those that read your blog and also sometimes you may even get products free just to write a review of the product.
A few days ago I received a jar of Grey Poupon Hearty Spicy Brown Mustard and a jar of Harvest Course Ground. When I first opened these jars and looked at the mustard contained in each I was not very impressed. The looks of the mustard especially the Harvest Course Ground does not make a person particularly interested in trying the mustard. But mustards are very thick. The Harvest Course Ground is a thick and chunky. I was asked to write a review of the mustard so I tried both jars.
I also asked my husband and two children to try the mustard. My kids looked at it and neither one would even try it. My husband and I did not like either mustard on a lunchmeat sandwich. The next day I made breaded chicken patty sandwiches and put the Spicy Brown Mustard on everyone’s sandwich. All of us enjoyed the mustard on the chicken sandwich. The spiciness of the mustard gave the chicken and extra zing that was a tasty change to regular mustard.
That night I prepared deviled eggs with our meal and I made a few with the Harvest Course Ground, some with the Hearty Spicy Brown and a few with regular mustard. The ones made with the Harvest Course Ground were not liked by any of us. The Hearty Spicy Brown ones were eaten but not enjoyed as much as the ones with the regular mustard.
Overall the mustard was not a huge hit in my house. The Harvest Spicy Brown will be used on hot sandwiches as this is when it was enjoyed the most. The Harvest Course Ground will probably be given to my brother in law. It was not liked by anyone in my house.

Taylor News
There has been a lot of news going on in the world of Taylor Hicks and the fan base the Soul Patrol. There is a blog out there that wants to help Taylor, they claim. They want to help him by calling him a liar. Saying he lied to his friends, family and his fan base. They claim that he was with a woman and she was a bad seed. A woman who would send all of Taylor’s devoted fans into frenzy and ruin his reputation as God, so they say they are around to tell the truth and to get Taylor to dump the girl that he let take the place of the bad seed. We have been tricked they proclaim.
So what do I think about this? I never thought Taylor Hicks was a God, nor did I think he was so innocent babe that had done no wrong. Did I think some of Taylor’s personality on Idol was an act? Yes of course I did. I believe Taylor is a great person with a good heart. I however do not think he is some perfect man. In the real world there is no such thing as a perfect man. American Idol in many ways is like Survivor. You not only need talent. Which Taylor Hicks has plenty of, you also have to out wit, out play and out last the rest of the competition. There has to be something about the contestant to get American to fall in love with them. Taylor did what was needed to get his voice heard and to stand out from the rest.
Do I think Taylor was with another woman and because she was a bad seed he found a look-alike to take her place? Seems kind of out there to me but who knows what people will do. The point is, does it really matter? If it was to be true would that makes Taylor less talented? I do not like Taylor Hicks because of who he might or might not date, I do not like him because he may or may not tell a lie. None of those things matter. Taylor won me over with his voice and his entertaining ways with performing. So the rest is really pointless. If a singer, actor or anyone was liked only if they were perfect there would be no music or movies to enjoy.
Taylor Hicks went to Asia. He preformed many concerts and appeared on Asian Idol. He was loved and appreciated in Asia. So glad to see Taylor is Taylorizing the rest of the world.
It was also reported that Taylor was dropped from J Records. This report did not report all aspects. New reports and a memo from Taylor at Myspace announce that it was a mutual decision.
Some people also assume that being a fan of Taylor means not supporting other artists from the same season. I for one find this silly. I love Taylor music, he is who I voted for and he is who I wanted to win American Idol. I however also love Bucky Covington and Kellie Pickler. I have actually saw Bucky in concert more than I have Taylor, because Bucky has been in my area more often.
I have a few diamond rings. Each of these rings is valuable. I would not part with any of the 4 rings. But there is one ring that is much more valuable to me. It is the ring that my Father gave my Mother. This is the ring that above all the others means the most to me. However I would also not part with my Grandmothers ring, my wedding ring and the ring that is being saved for my daughter.
So just like with Taylor and other music I enjoy, Taylor is my favorite but I also enjoy and will not give up or feel wrong for enjoying other music.

Dyson Telescope Reach - Thanks Sis
I bought a Dyson Telescope Reach a few weeks ago. When I shop for vacuum cleaners , I usually by the cheapest. My sister however recommended I buy a Dyson. So I splurged a little and got one. I must say I am so glad that I took her advice. This vaccuum has terrific power and I love the quick release wand. It also came with a free car cleaning kit which is great. We have 3 vehicles and this kit makes cleaning them so much easier and quicker. Another great benifit to this vaccuum is that it is suitable on all types of floors. It is also a lightweight machine. Thanks Sis for alerting me to this vaccuum.

Merry Christmas
Hi Everyone. Merry Christmas!!! I love a cold, white Christmas. Of course I’m not getting that this year. It is cold here in Ohio but there is no snow. It is still a great Christmas however. Had all my kids here today and we celebrated Christmas on Christmas. My oldest son and his girlfriend and her little girl were here with us also, so we had more to share the holidays with this year.
Now after New Years my spring fever will set in. I can not wait for spring and summer to get here. I love to spend the summer camping, hiking, swimming and attending outdoor concerts. I hope Taylor makes it this way for an outdoor concert. I loved attending Taylor’s concert last April in Columbus Ohio at the Lifestyles Community Pavilion, but I much prefer being outside on a beautiful sunny evening for a concert.
Last summer I attended 3 Bucky Covington Concerts that were outdoors. I would love so much to attend a Taylor Hicks concert outdoors. We already know Bucky is going to back in our area July 5th for an outdoor concert. It is going to be near a place we camp at every year so you can bet my camping gear will be ready. We will get a campsite and get it all set up, attend Bucky’s show and then head back to the camp site for a night under the stars. I just hope I get the same experience for a Taylor Hicks show.

What is a Fandom?
I have never been one to join fan sites, yahoo fan boards or post to boards about a celebrity or a musician. I have been a fan Elvis Presley since I was a little kid and I surfed the internet to see what information there was out there about Elvis, that I might not know, but I did not join the boards or post on them. I didn’t join a fan club, I just quietly read and then went about doing something else. Then there was Taylor Hicks.
I started out just intending to read a little about him so I could write my first, and at the time, I thought my only article about him. I discovered TOSP first and soon I joined and starting posting. I discovered there were people just as crazy over Mr. Hicks as I was.
I soon sought out more websites and groups about him and I joined almost everyone I found. I post to some still but mostly at TOSP and Taylor Hicks Headquarters. What is it that keeps us posting at these boards? Is it just Taylor and what is gong on in Taylor news at any given time? That is part of it but I think a lot of it is that because we all share the mutual love and respect we have for Taylor Hicks; we have grown to know each other. We have become friends and confidents. In some cases we are closer to or fellow Soul Patrol friends than we are to even some our own family members or real life friends.
We can express our love and admiration of Taylor and we don’t get the eye rolls or the “Oh God not Taylor again” sentiments those in our life might give us. We all have a common bond. Though we all might support Taylor in different ways we all still admire him so much for fighting to get his voice heard. Through Taylor we have created lasting friendships that mean very much to us. We send each other gifts, cards, pictures and videos of Taylor and just words of encouragement when times in our life are hard.
A fandom can be complicated at times. It can be aggravating at times. Some times we might even start to agree with our family and friends and think we need rehabs. But one thing is for sure a fandom is a source of many things. It is a source to keep up with all things related to our Soul Man, it is a source to reach out for a helping hand when something is wrong, if you need a prayer, and thousands will send the prayer up into the heavens. Our hearts are warmed by the love we know we can find in friends we have made in the fandom. A fandom is a source to make friends that will last a lifetime.

Taylor Hicks Makes Billboard Top 100 Albums of 2007
Billboard released its Top 100 albums of 2007. Taylor Hicks self titled album “Taylor Hicks” came in at #74. This is a major accomplishment and Taylor should be very proud of himself. Taylor had very little radio and his promotion was not the best. For Taylor Hicks to still make the Top 100 list is amazing.
Some want to center on who did better than whom, that does not matter in the slightest as everyone is in different genres. Taylor’s talent is shining through and no matter what anyone does to try and tear him down his talent will continue to shine through and his career will continue to grow.
I am sure we all remember the story of the tortoise and the hare. The hare was leading the race but because he thought he was guaranteed to beat the tortoise he messed around a little too long. In the end the tortoise won the race. As the story means, slow and steady wins the race. Taylor Hicks is following this pace and the hare will soon be left in his dust.

Bucky Covington Festival of the Bells

As most of you know not only am I a Taylor Hicks fan, I also like Bucky Covington. He was closer to my area last year than Taylor was so I only managed to see Taylor once, I however saw Bucky 3 times. I have told every body I hope Taylor, Bucky and Kellie all three come near me alot this summer so I can see all three. Well I just got a email alert and July 5th Bucky Covington will be in Hillsboro Ohio at The Festival of The Bells. A few years back we saw Mike Albert, an Elvis impersanator their. We camp at Rocky Fork alot in that area so you can bet I will be there this summer to see Bucky. My concert plans for the summer are starting now I just need Tay to come here.

Las Vegas Here I may come - If Taylor will be there
Oh Boy I just checked my mail. I have supposedly won a 3 night free stay at a Las Vegas hotel. It says that it is not a gimmick and it is 100% free. It figures my phone is down and I can not call to check about this supposed win. I would ordinarily just throw it away and not even think about it. I am not one to travel that far away from home. But now that I am a Taylor Hicks fan, traveling seems like a good thing, if Taylor is going to be where I travel. So I will check into these tickets and if they are REAL and Taylor is going to be in Las Vegas, sometime in the next year. Which is how long I am supposed to have to use them, than Las Vegas bound I may be with a free hotel stay.

I need a Taylor Hicks Fix
It is the Christmas season once again. I remember last year was such a great year. Not only did I have all my family around and enjoyed our time together so much, it was also a great time of year for Taylor Hicks fans. Taylor’s first CD after wining Idol came out, that was Christmas gift. The one everyone knew was the only thing I wanted. I also interviewed Taylor last December. He was on many Christmas specials. It was great, Taylor totally Taylorized the Christmas songs he sang.
This year Taylor is out and about. He is going to be at The Liberty Bowl President's Gala is scheduled for December 28, 2007, @ 7:00 PM CST at the Peabody Hotel. Taylor will play for about 90 minutes during the dancing and entertainment time (he is the headliner). The President's Gala is black tie and tickets are $175 each.
The AutoZone Liberty Bowl is scheduled for December 29, 2007, @ 4:30 PM EST / 3:30 PM CST. It will air on ESPN. So hopefully we will get a Taylor Hicks fix and get to see him on this.
Taylor Hicks will be playing at three of their locations in the Phillippines. They are:
• Glorietta - December 18, 2007 @ 7:00 PM @ Glorietta 4 Park
• Greenbelt - December 19, 2007 @ 8:00 PM @ Greenbelt 3 Park
• TriNoma - December 20, 2007 @ 7:00 PM @ Trinoma Activity Center
It is so great Taylor is taking his music to other countries. I just wish he was coming to Ohio this month.
But I sure wish Taylor was scheduled to be on some Christmas show this year. I need a Taylor Hicks fix. I wish I could turn on the TV and get a tv lift , by seeing Taylor perform. I guess I will just put my DVD’s in the player and play the shows from last year.

Taylor Hicks Columbus Ohio Concert - Pictures
In April I attended my first and as of yet my only Taylor Hicks concert, in Columbus Ohio. My pictures did not turn out the best. I don’t know if it was the lights , the darkness of the venue, more than likely it was my cheap digital camera. I was in the first row and thought I would get amazing pictures. I have not shared my pictures before because of the low quality. I was looking through them today and found a few that are ok and decided to post them and share them with you. So here are my pictures from the Taylor Hicks Columbus Ohio Concert this past April. Enjoy!!

Off Topic - Better Caring
I have thought of my Mom alot today and realised many of us sooner or later has to think of checking out what to expect with a nursing home, whether it is for us or a loved one. BetterCaring is a great site for anyone who needs answers to very important questions about the care in a home, finances and more. You can look at the care options that are available so that you can arrange the best kind of care and receive tips from BetterCaring care experts. You will also find a forum where you can discuss with others the experiences they have had in the care system. My Mother is in a home now, she has Alzheimer’s and this site would have been a great help when my Father and I were researching the best place for her. The site is easy to navigate and the stories users share will touch your heart.

Tayor Hicks Concert December 28th
We have all been waiting to hear news when Taylor will be doing more concerts. There is now news of a concert. There is a gala, in Nashville; on Friday night on Dec. 28th at the Peabody Hotel, the concert starts at 7:00 pm. Taylor will play for 90 minutes. The gala is black tie and tickets are $175 per person. This concert is a little to far away from me and with Christmas and all about as affordable as a Girard Perregaux watch. The 29th is our anniversary so maybe my husband will surprise me with a trip to Nashville. I plant the idea in his head and see what happens. But no matter what it will be great though to hear all about it from those that do go. I love reading all the recaps from those who attend shows. They have such fun and the excitement and fun comes through in their recaps, making those of us who did not attend feel like we were there with them.

I have always wanted to visit Graceland, home of Elvis Presley and to see the ocean. I have never managed to do either of these. I buy the Ohio lottery tickets and hope to win big so I can travel around the world and see every landmark I can think of. Ever since Taylor Hicks won AI my places to visit have been added to. I tell my husband I want to go to shows Taylor is doing in other states or to visit Alabama. I have a friend who lives in Alabama and she and I have tried to talk my husband into moving to Alabama. My family and friends know that I play the lottery now and then, hoping to hit it big. My husband told me the other day if I win to first get a real estate agent and to make it one in Alabama because he knows we will probably move there. I couldn’t help but laugh, I guess he finally realizes he may as well accept I am a Taylor fan. He however knows we would probably not move away from Ohio, unless of course my oldest son and his girlfriend agreed to move with us.

Missing Taylor? Take me Home Country Roads
Everyone remembers the Top 9 week. Taylor sang John Denver’s Take Me Home Country Roads. Many people including Taylor did not like Taylor’s version, I however did like the song. It was not my favorite of Taylor’s but I still liked it. Maybe it is because I love country music. So lets watch Tay sing it again and also John Denver.

Taylor Hicks Themed Items
Not only am I a Taylor Hicks fan, I’m also a big fan of Elvis Presley. Practically everyone on my Dad’s side is a fan of Elvis. So today I was looking online to find some Elvis Christmas gifts for my aunts. I found a site that sells all kinds of different Elvis Gifts. From purses, hot sauce, makeup mirrors and Zippo lighters to almost anything you can imagine. There are so many items to choose from I could buy my whole family Elvis themed items for every holiday, for a very long time. This got me thinking to Taylor Hicks themed items. There are several already, but I can’t help but wonder will there soon come a day when we will be able to go one website and find almost anything we want with Taylor’s imagine on it? Just a thought for the day, which was going through my head.

Strange Taylor Hicks Dream
Last night I had a very strange dream. I dreamed that I lived in Alabama and I was driving down the road. Every few feet there was a sigh that said, land for sale, with an arrow pointing the direction to go. I passed quite a few of these signs and they all kept pointing the same direction. I kept thinking to my self that lots of people had land to sale. Finally after passing about a dozen of these signs I decided to go the direction that one of the signs showed.
I turned left then a few miles later I turned right, and so on and so on for quite a long trip. I finally ended up in an area that simply said, this is the land for you to buy. Next to that section of land was a beautiful log home. Now I don’t mean just an ordinary log home. This was a mansion of log home.
I was figuring my expenses in my head trying to decide if I could afford to buy land and build a home. Then I heard someone behind me say “Hi Dear, can I help you with something?” I turned around, and their behind me, was Taylor Hicks, he informed me he lived in that beautiful log home. I then awoke to the sound of my ringing telephone. I hate being interrupted from a great dream.

What Could you do if You Were Rich and Famous?
My kids love playing The Sims game. Ok, I confess I do to. But today my daughter decided her home needed a theater inside it. She wanted some special carpet for the theater floor. So she typed into search to find some Sims home theater carpet. She came upon a site that sells actual theater carpet for your home. Can you imagine actually having enough money and a home that is large enough for a theater? The best I could do is make 1 room in my home a TV only room and put the carpet there. A 12x18 room would only cost me a little over $700 to put the carpet in. I guess I’ll pass on that. But just had to share with you the things we could do, if we were rich and famous.

Taylor Hicks - Black Friday Push
Black Friday is a major shopping day for the holidays. Today was the big push for Taylor Hicks CD. The fans really leapt into action and Taylor’s been climbing Amazon’s charts today. Here are Taylor’s Amazon sales figures as of 11:45 pm EST.
Amazon.com Sales Rank: #238 in Music
#1 in Music > R&B > Soul > Southern Soul
#1 in Music > R&B > Soul > Blue-Eyed Soul
#3 in Music > Classic Rock > Southern Rock
I had a friend and her daughter visit me today. They had heard me talk a little about Taylor Hicks, but they didn’t really know who he was. I showed them some videos on my PC and they listened to his music. They enjoyed Taylor so much they left my house and went to Wal-Mart to each buy a copy of his CD.
My friend’s daughter is 24 and she thinks Taylor is gorgeous. Well now anyway she said. They had seen some pictures I had of Taylor while he was idol. Today they saw all the pictures I have of Taylor. She said Dear Lord what happened to that man? He was ok before but now he is Hot! She is big into diet stuff and she asked me if I thought he had used hoodia or something. LOL
Taylor’s sales are doing great today and he also made at least 2 new fans, so all is good.
If you haven’t purchased Taylor Hicks yet or just want to get another to help his sales then follow this link to get your CD now.

Taylor Fan World - We Need a CD
I can not wait for Taylor to emerge with his new CD. Not only do I need a Taylor fix, but we need to divert attention back to what is important, because some fan blogs are causing google alerts to go out that show the fans as being pretty silly. It seems some people put too much time into what girl Taylor is or isn’t dating. Worse yet one site wants to make it seem as though he committed the automate crime. Now they even brag that the national media is getting involved. Not because this story is something unusual in the celebrity world, but because the fans are so involved in it. This site is excited over this. Come on get real “if” this goes nationwide it is just going to show that site and the defense sites as being silly. So once again Taylor’s fans are going to come off looking nuts.
I won’t deny that is true for some. All fan bases have some over the top fans. However this will just label the whole fan base that way. The site who started all this crap probably needs some affordable life insurance because they have exerted their self so much in trying to prove Taylor a liar, no correction they wanted to be the center of attention and they got that, but all this had to do some damage to their heart, because really can you do this crap to a person and not feel some guilt. I am sure their conscience has to be telling them how wrong it all is. They would never admit to it though.

Missing Taylor? He’ll Not Fade Away
Buddy Holly and The Crickets made Not Fade Away a famous song that all the kids, dressed in poodle skirts danced to. I wasn’t around in the 50’s but I have always enjoyed all the music from that era. I could not find a video of Buddy Holly singing this one. I did find a video of the song however, enjoy!
And of course here is Taylor’s version

Taylor having last laugh
On the thoughts of Taylor’s career and if he did or didn’t lie, I forgot to mention one very important thing. Taylor’s checking account. I would bet money that none of the “catch him in lie worshippers” can match his money. So I guess that means Taylor has the last laugh. The more they condemn Taylor, the more they actually help. More people stumble upon the site, who may have not heard of Taylor and they go to find out more about him. They listen to his music, they like what they hear; they become a fan, which gives Taylor even more money. Yep Taylor is having the last laugh.

Sticking by Taylor
Taylor Hicks, as we all know started out playing bar gigs and weddings. There is a site out there that wants to convince everyone that Taylor Hicks is a horrible and dishonest person. Saying he lied to his fans. I myself really don’t care either way. I will still buy Taylor’s music and go his concerts no matter what. What they fell to realize, is that a few short years ago Taylor Hicks would play a bar gig and there would be many empty bar stools. No matter what comes of this Taylor will no longer have to worry about having fans to come and hear him sing and buy his music. Taylor has a huge fan base and the majority of them will not let something this stupid stop them from enjoying Taylor and his music. No I don’t drink the supposed SP Kool-Aid, I also will not drink the let’s catch Taylor in a lie drink that they offer. Elvis Presley died from a drug overdose. This did not stop his fans and nothing will stop Taylor’s fans from sticking by him no matter what.

A Soul Patrol Themed Holiday Candle
I have a friend that makes christmas candles and every year she makes me some scented brightly colored candles to display around my home during the holidays. Today she brought me a new candle that she had made for me. I wish my digital camera was not broken, so I could show you this beautiful candle. I am hoping to get a new one soon and will post the picture then. For now I will just describe the candle. It is a bright green and it says Soul Patrol. The candle sets up and there is a wick to light on each letter. Sort of like in the middle of the letters going the length of the candle in bright red is written Patrol Your Soul. So the candles reads Soul Patrol, Patrol your Soul. She said when she hears me speak of the Soul Patrol it makes her think of something religious. Because she says you need to always Patrol (monitor) what is in your heart and soul. I will not be lighting this candle even though it has a delicious cinnamon scent. I want to always be reminded to Patrol my Soul.

Taylor Hicks Winning over the Masses
I think my husband has finally accepted the idea I am a Taylor Hicks fan. He updated my PC so it could be hooked into my TV, had the cable company schedule a time to come and turn on HDTV and got a plasma TV and plasma stand. Oh sure all this stuff is great for his TV viewing pleasure also but he knows all this makes it much easier for me watch all things Taylor and to watch them in style. I remember my Mom saying, when Elvis first came out, that most of the husbands and boyfriends did not like him. He took the attention away from them. She said it didn’t take long before Elvis’s talent and charisma was so evident that these same guys who could not stand him grew to appreciate and really respect Elvis I see the same thing happening with Taylor now. It’s all good.

Taylor Hicks Whomp at the Warfield
Taylor Hicks “Whomp at the Warfield” concert has been getting rave reviews. From those who attended the concert and from those who saw the concert on HDTV. I wasn’t able to see it, as I did not have HDTV. That all changes next week, I am having HDTV installed; I hope Whomp at the Warfield is still airing. I have also heard about a commercial video using the song The Fall. I really hope to see this as The Fall is my favorite song of Taylor’s. My cable company was trying to explain how they are going to get me set up such as saying they need to bring bulk cable. Umm Ok as I told them I don’t care how it is done, just get here and get done. I need my Hicks Fix.

Taylor Hicks TV
Thanks to MissyScarlet at TOSP for alerting fans to Taylor Hicks TV. While it may not actually be on TV it is the next best thing. Blip TV is a video sharing site. Similar too, Gofish and Youtube, however with Taylor Hicks TV as an example it is set up so each video is on the screen and plays one right after another. I am so glad my laptop has a video card that hooks to my TV. I am able to watch Taylor Hicks TV on my TV. Check it out. There are 21 songs by Taylor and 1 clip of Taylor talking to the crowd. This is a great way to pass the time while Taylor is on break.

Taylor Hicks Cover Songs
This blog is going to show all of Taylor’s AI Performances and the original artist performance. Taylor has done some excellent cover songs that were not just on American Idol. I am also going to be posting videos of these. The First is “Ain’t no Sunshine” Originally by Bill Withers.
Ain’t no Sunshine – Bill Withers
I truly enjoy Bill Withers version, however Taylor’s Version gives me goose bumps, when he starts playing the harp, that’s it I’m done. I so hope that Taylor has some songs like this on his next CD.
