Taylor Hicks, as most fans know has been performing on Broadway since June 6th in Grease as Teen Angel. I will not be able to go to NY to see this performance so I felt really let down that I would not be able to see Taylor be the Teen Angel.
I should have know the SP always finds away to share videos, pictures and audio with the rest of the SP any time they see Taylor.
I have been watching the videos and looking at the pictures and reading the recaps that make me feel like I was right there in the theater. You can feel the joy, fun and excitement that each person sharing the recap felt. Taylor gives everyone who sees and hears him such joy. There is just something about Taylor Hicks that can put a smile on your face no matter what may be going in your life. Even if you are not able to go and see Taylor you can get that same feeling by reading the recaps of those fortunate enough to see and experience the soul man. I have watched the Beauty School Dropout and Curtain Call videos several times since they were posted for us to all share in Taylor’s amazing performance and I am so thankful to those who let us into Broadway with them.
Yesterday a game my daughter wanted for her playstation 3 came. It is an American Idol game. She loves it but she said she thought it would have something of Taylor in it. LOL yea even my daughter expects Taylor in everything.
Below enjoy the Taylor videos of Taylor in Grease.

Taylor is the Word- Grease is the Show

Taylor Hicks debut on Broadway as Teen Angel in Grease was Friday June 6th. I will not be able to make it to NY to see Taylor even though I would love to go very much and take my 13 year old daughter to see the sights and sounds of New York as well as see the best show in town, there is just no way I can afford this trip.
I want to see Taylor in this role very much as Grease is one of my favorite musicals, Footloose is my next favorite. So anyway I knew there was no way I would be able to see Taylor but thanks to the generosity of Taylor Hicks fans the video, audio and pictures are flowing all over for all of us who will not be lucky to get to NY to still experience our Soul Man making his mark on Broadway. Thankfully I can use copy and paste or Ctrl and D to share and bookmark all the great things to see and hear online. I would have gone through quite a lot of ink pens by now if I had to write this all down. Go here, here and here to see some great stuff from Taylor’s Broadway appearance. I know there will be lots more to keep track of as Taylor will be Teen Angel until September. Also go here to read what the lady playing Rizzo as to say about Taylor.

Taylor Bracelet
Just incase you missed my post from a few weeks ago about the Taylor Hicks charm bracelet that I had made I am posting the video again. I have worn this bracelet everyday since I got it and it is a great conversation starter. I have many people ask me about it and then they want to know who the guy is in the pictures so I get to tell them about Taylor. One woman working the counter at a Speedway store did not even know Taylor had a CD out. After our talk she said she would look at Wal-mart for his CD if it is not there she is going to order it from Amazon. My husband says he could have gotten me a gold bangle bracelet that in his opinion would be better. Yea right, that would have no picture of Taylor I much prefer this.

I need rehab?
Men just do not understand why Taylor has captured the heats of their women. My husband says I need Taylor rehab, says I’m addicted. He thinks there ought to be a Taylor Hicks rehab like there is a drug rehab. I told him drug rehab works because drugs are bad for you and you want to quit them. Taylor is good for the heart and soul and no one, definitely not me, wants to quit Taylor. Like always he just shakes his head. I think one reason men do not understand is because they don’t get involved in anything or anyone the same way a woman does.
We think with our hearts. When we care about something or in this case someone we put our whole heart and our soul into them. We want to see someone we care about succeed in everything they do. If someone says bad things about them especially untrue things we jump to their defense. Men think most times with one part of their body and that affect does not last long. It never lasts as long as someone who is committed with their heart.

Taylor Hicks Teen Angel
Tomorrow is the big day. Taylor Hicks will make his debut as Teen Angel in Broadway’s production of Grease. I can not wait to start hearing recaps from those lucky enough to get see Taylor in this role. I know he will make the song Beauty School Dropout his own as he has done with every song he has sung. Taylor has the ability to take any song and make it his own and I know he will do the same with this song. Broadway I hope you are prepared for the Soul Patrol.
Off Topic – Father’s Day is around the corner. The kids went online and chose what they wanted to get their Dad for Father’s Day. They chose a FP Journe watch. These are beautiful watches. If you are still looking for something check them out.

Allergies
It has been a wild spring here in Ohio. One day will be in the 90s, the next may be 60. Rain and tornado warnings. My allergies have been driving me crazy through it all. Last year my husband got me a IQAir Air purifier. This thing has been a life saver. My husband says it will also come in handy when I read all the recaps from Taylor’s stint on Broadway. Yea he thinks he is funny. Oh well is also probably right.

What is American Idol about?
I recently read an article that I agree with very much in part it says “Idol has always been about someone achieving the impossible dream. It doesn’t mean much to us if we can’t relate to the people on stage. A Taylor Hicks or a Ruben Studdard, a Bo Bice or a Fantasia Barrino - these are the Idols who truly seemed to come from nowhere to realize their dreams. That makes for good television, whether they enjoy thriving careers beyond the show or not.” Go to Santa Monica Mirror online to check it out.

Has American Idol lost its Appeal?
Many people are asking has American Idol lost its appeal. I know for me and for many others it undeniably has. I just read an article at the Santa Monica Mirror Online that talks about this. The article states that the show may have become too interested in turning out viable stars. This made for a boring and safe season. I have watched very few episodes of American Idol since season five. There are several reasons but one is that the show in season six and seven has seemed very boring.
Go here to read the rest of the article and to leave your opinion on whether you agree or Naot.

Today was a great Tay day for me. I got my Taylor Hicks stamps, that a friend had sent to me. Thank you so much. Another Great thing that came in the mail was something I have been looking for forever, a charm bracelet with pictures of Taylor. The places I found the prices were just way to high. Recently I found a guy who makes charm bracelets and will add 19 pictures of your choice to them. I sent hi my 19 choices of Taylor Hicks Pictures and today I got the bracelet. I am very pleased with the bracelet. It is well made and looks great. The pictures are crystal clear. This bracelt is one I will be showing off alot and will make a great keepsake. Below you will find a video I put together to show you the bracelet. The video is not very clear but that is because of my camera. The actual bracelet is great. I have never been more satisfied with something I ordered online. If you want a bracelet made of your own choice of Taylor pictures or anything else plese go here.

Taylor Hicks - Country Influenced album?
I have been getting great, positive Google alerts all day about Taylor. He has announced that he will be playing Teen Angel in the Broadway production of Grease and singing the song Beauty School dropout. Another Google alert I got is from an article in People magazine. Here are some of the quotes I find most interesting.
While in New York City, the Alabama native will also record his country-influenced second album.
"I've been spending a lot of time with songwriters in Nashville," Hicks tells PEOPLE. "I can really breathe creatively without the constraints of a post-Idol album."
He also plans to tackle some serious issues. "It's an election year so there will be some political undertones. I've become a sponge while creating each song, soaking up what's going on whether it's political or about love."
I am a huge fan of country music. Country really is great to the artists. I can’t wait for this CD to come out. My kids and hubby all love country music so maybe with some country influenced Taylor they won’t complain that it is always in the CD player.
And for those worried about Taylor doing Grease here is what he had to say about Grease.
Hicks tells PEOPLE he can't wait to perform in Grease. "I'm truly honored to have a role in such an American institution,"
I so agree with him on this. Grease is my favorite movie. I have never saw the play but still I am sure Taylor will be great at it.

Taylor Hicks was on The Today Show
I am sitting here waiting to watch Taylor Hicks on the Today Show. We have already heard the news is that Taylor would be in the Broadway production of Grease he will be playing the role of Teen Angel and be in one scene singing Beauty School Dropout. As soon as I read this news I was thrilled. After posting to my blog last night I went to boards and such and see it is a mixed reaction. Some think it is a bad move, some are worried the critics will attack him and others worry that he will make Broadway a career and may not tour.
Now I am not a physic and I do not know Taylor. But I just don’t think Taylor would ever give up touring. He loves the live audience and singing for them. He has said that many, many times. There are many musicians who have done some Broadway and still put out their CDS and toured.
Grease is a classic; I think this opportunity will be great. More people will get to see Taylor live. We all know that once you see Taylor live you are hooked. There are so many people who go and watch Broadway shows, this will let a lot more people experience Taylor. Plus think about it. Taylor will be gorgeous in that role.
Will the critics give him a fair deal? That is hard to tell. But they rarely do anyway so if they don’t we are used to that. What is important is that Taylor does what he wants to do and gains new fans along the way and I am certain he will gain new fans. This is great it is Taylor Hicks Day in Alabama and Taylor is on TV.
Ok I will finish this post in about 30 minutes after I see Taylor on the Today Show.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!! If you haven’t watched yet and don’t want to know yet then read no FURTHER.
Recap so far at 10:02 EST Kotb and Kathy Lee talking about how nice and cute Taylor is out in the hall. Kathy said she gave him a cookie, joked she offered him vodka but he chose the cookie.
10:12 going to break showed Taylor goofing off on couch and smiling and waving. He looked handsome of course.
10:15 back from break shows Taylor winning AI and now he is on. Ask about Broadway. Taylor says yes the Soul Patrol is about to invade Broadway. Says the Teen Angel part is a little over the top and he is a little over the top. Ask him he to sing Beauty School dropout says have to come to Broadway. Then they talk about Idol some. Last movie he saw Big Fish.
10:20 it is over. Short and sweet. Taylor looked great and seemed very happy about doing Grease.
Ok over and out I need to go to dentist and have a tooth pulled. But at least I got to see Taylor before the pain starts. Great start to a dreaded day.

Taylor Hicks on Broadway - Grease is the Word
Taylor Hicks on Broadway – Grease is The Word
We have talked about wanting to see Taylor Hicks in movies. Well it isn’t the movies but it is Broadway. As Posted by Mary Colurso at Birmingham News. Taylor is going to be in the Broadway production of “Grease” he will be in the Teen Angel scene that was made famous by Frankie Avalon. Taylor will be singing Beauty School Dropout. We all know Taylor will make the song his own.
Grease has always been my favorite movie so hearing Taylor is doing this is great. It will let new people experience Taylor Hicks and I am sure the show will see a increase in sells as Taylor Hicks fans make their way to see the Soul Man in Grease.
This is the big news Taylor will be talking about tomorrow on the Today show. I can’t wait to see him on the show and maybe I will finally have a reason to go to New York other than wanting to see Niagara Falls.
Go here to read all about it Mary Colurso
And here is Frankie Avalon singing Beauty School Dropout

New Kid on the (Sunscreen) Block
My daughter as fair skin, she tans pretty easily but I know the sun can be dangerous and a teenager’s skin needs to be protected. The sunscreen I bought last year she always complained it felt greasy and yucky as she says. I started looking online for sunscreen that may be better than what we have been using.
I found a site that sells sunscreen and two Moms launched a facial sunscreen for a teenager’s skin. I love getting products from other Moms because I know from experience we need all the extra money we can get. If I am going to buy a product I would much rather support a Mom than a corporation.
Their sunscreen focuses on the area of the neck and up. Their sunscreens are non-greasy, non- irritating and dermatologist approved. The sunscreens feel great on your skin, my daughter loves the feel. You can find out more and see their other sunscreen products by visiting their site at https://www.screenrountine.com
