Twas the night of the Grease Tour Debut,

Something I did just for fun. Names chosen are simply names of people who have posted here.

Twas the night of the Grease Tour Debut, when all through the online world
Everyone was waiting patiently for news that would soon unfurl
Knowing others would soon be giving updates to share,
It’s starting again, the Soul Patrol traveling affair.
The fans were refreshing anxiously, the new threads,
While visions of horns and drums danced in their heads;
And Taylor with his harp, and fans waiting for a recap,
I had just settled down to wait for those caps,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a shiny head of gray, music so great, I could hear,
With a harp playing, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be Tay Hicks.
More rapid than eagles his fans they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Jersey! now, Annie! now, Cochem and all Vixens!
Come, Angels! Come Henry! Come, Chill and PoetCindy!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dance away! dance away! dance away all!"
So in to the house the fans they flew,
With the house full of musical toys, and Taylor Hicks too.
And then, in a minute, I heard the proof
That this was all real, it wasn’t a dream, it wasn’t a spoof.
As I caught my breath, and was turning around,
Right up to us danced Taylor Hicks, he came with a bound.
He was dressed all in black and gray, from his head to his foot,
The space between us was less than a cubic foot;
A bundle of signed items he had flung on his back,
And they were signed to us all, the items in his pack.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his mood was all happy and airy!
His sexy little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the hair on his head was as white as the snow;
And I sighed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know, I had to start a new thread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And he sang and played the harp; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his head to the side, he smiled and for a second froze
And giving a woo, we are always satisfied, he knows.
He sprang to his car, to his band gave a whistle,
And away they all drove like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"Soul Patrol to all, and to all a good night."
